Book Description

Why You Are Good, Worthy, Wonderful, Beautiful, and Unique

You have dozens of wonderful qualities, traits great and small that make you capable, valuable, and worthy of love. Often it's easy to ignore these positive attributes and obsess on the things about yourself that aren't perfect. But when you do, you may risk harming your self-confidence and self-esteem. Psychologists have known for decades that feeling positively about yourself is a good place to start if you want to enjoy success and a general sense of well-being. Now you can put the power of self-celebration to work for you.

In this book you'll find a warm and engaging set of activities you can use to identify what's right in your life. Through guided reflection and journaling, you'll learn to find strength and self-reliance in your own best qualities. You'll get to know yourself better, and you'll love all the wonderful things you'll discover in the process. Even after you finish the book, you'll want to revisit your own words again and again: They'll inspire you with confidence and guide you to great success, happiness, and peace of mind.

This review is from: What's Right with Me: Positive Ways to Celebrate Your Strengths, Build Self-Esteem, and Reach Your Potential (Paperback)
The title of this book caught my eye as I browsed in a Chicago bookstore. I was taken with the gentle yet wise tutorial it offers the reader to explore their world, befriend their strengths and successes, establish their game plans and put them into effect. It is such a personal journey that the authors, Mother and daughter, might well have included a third spot for the author: in this case it would be, Deroo, Deroo, and The Reader, because the journey is so much co-constructed by those of us who plunge in. It should be on the shelf of every counselor, and every student of strengths and achievement. It makes an excellent companion to my book, Appreciative Moments: Stories and Practices for Living and Working Appreciatively
