5.0 out of 5 stars Poppy songs with amazing beats
Buy this album now, then wait for the spectacular remix album that's sure to come!

Now, normally this sort of music isn't my thing, but I just couldn't resist this album after hearing the Medic Droid on MySpace as well as on my friend's ipod. I do like to think of myself as a person of many musical tastes, listen to groups ranging from Hank Williams to the Mars...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great band, terrible debut
Okay, I'll say this first. I absolutely love the Medic Droid, but this album is sub par. Mostly because half the cd consists of songs that were already available, but are re-mastered, and the new versions are terrible. Although, the new songs on the cd aren't much better.

If you want to get into the medic droid, go on youtube and look up their demos, and then download them somewhere else, because there's no way to purchase them anywhere. This album is crap.

(by the way, it's not the band's fault, I heard that they had to re-record all of the songs. But still, the re-recordings suck)

I went crazy when The Medic Droic released their first single, Fer Sure. I knew that this was a group to stick with....however, their first CD REALLY fell short from what I know they can do. The new version of Fer Sure sucked, and the rest of the songs weren't that great.

I do like to think of myself as a person of many musical tastes, listen to groups ranging from Hank Williams to the Mars Volta to Jedi Mind Tricks to Between the Buried and Me to Justice, and much more. I thoroughly recommend this release for all fans of techno, electronica, and even for those who don't like those genres because they are sure to find something worthwhile in 'Medium.'

I brought this CD for my teenage daughter for Xmas. One of the many things on her wish list so I guess she was pleased with the fact that I was able to find it on Amazon.com.

This is my favorite band and even though no longer together all their songs are good. Some are rushed and you should look up the article of "why the medic droid really broke up" its a sad but good and informative article.

The beat is full of energy. Each track has its own sound witch makes this great for someone who can't afford to buy all of their CDs

i still can't believe they chose to call it quits. such an awesome ep

i loved this cd, but like alot of people have already said..it was seriously toned down. the music seemed like it was run through the mainstream sound machine and it just wasn't the same. i really don't understand why though. they edited something that was already perfect. but its the musician that has the last say, so i guess we have to deal.

killer anna is still really sweet<3

5.0 out of 5 stars My medium is..., June 14, 2008

This album is great. The Medic Droid made a stunning explosion on the music scene with their song "Fer Sure". Their genre is one of the most amazing sounds the music industry could ever produce, and this is very well where they belong. They play their music well live and their remixes and recordings are flawless.

If I wasn't stunned by another band in this genre, The Medic Droid would definitely be my favorite. But they definitely deserve my number two slot!

5.0 out of 5 stars better, June 12, 2008
All the new album versions of the songs are much better than the original recordings, don't listen to any reviewers that are complaining about it, unless you hear it for yourself and be your own judge of them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall Not Worth the Wait, June 11, 2008
By
Those of us that have been waiting anxiously for the freshman release by The Medic Droid, and listening to bootleg/pre-release/demo copies of their songs ripped from their MySpace and other sites might be left wishing for a bit more, or perhaps a bit less of the boosted "voice changer" (most of the songs were perfect before the Album Version) - those that are new to the The Medic Droid should be thoroughly impressed by the mash of the emo/techno/dance genres. It's original, the lyrics are clever, and overall it's a great listen.

The drawbacks for regular listeners - there were only 3 songs I hadn't heard already. From reading other reviews, it seems that even one or two of those were already available on the Internet. So, that leaves a grand total of 1 new song? Although, to be fair, The Medic Droid wouldn't be the first band to release a "new" CD with only one new song. Depeche Mode and the Cure have made a career of it! Overall though, the new Album Versions seem to offer nothing original other than a new silly lyric in FScene8, and lots and lots (and lots) of new voice effects. All things considered, the original arrangements were far superior. In my opinion, with this release The Medic Droid went from a serious band with good content, lyrics and potential to more of a novelty band with "shock value".

I rated it a 3 because I could not give it 3.5. Listeners new to The Medic Droid shouldn't let the rating deter them from purchasing the tracks. Just do yourself a favor and skip the "Album Versions" and buy the originals if you can find them. If What's your Medium contained the originals, I would have rated it 5 out of 5 stars.
