Finding the right pillow is a very personal process - there's no single perfect pillow for all sleepers. So whether this works for others or not is not indicative of what it will do for you. So here are just the facts, so you can decide for yourself.
Price - after reviewing number of different pillows, this was moderately to low price-wise. If you are testing new pillows, this is a relative small investment even if you end up not liking it. Tempurpedic and other specially pillows can run upwards of $100.
Weight - iI believe the size I ordered was 7# of buckwheat, which is adequate to adjust the pillow to your head/neck on your side or on your back.
Bugs/smell - other pillow reviews had complaints about the smell and/or that there were bugs - neither was the case here. The pillow came in a sealed plastic bag in the shipping box (the box, oddly, had a handful of clay gravel in it). The pillow was free of any odors of any kind and has no bugs.
Feel - the best explanation is that it's like sleeping on a bag of sand. You can form it to your neck and head, but it's not soft like a latex, fiber or feather filled pillow.
Sound - it is noisy when you pick it up or adjust the husks to make a depression. However, once you are lying still to sleep it is no more noisy that the sound of your skin/face rubbing against fabric.
Size - it is slightly smaller than a standard/queen pillow and fits in a normal pillow case just fine.

I have the large-sized buckwheat pillow, which is standard pillow size, and I also have the smaller-sized one. I actually prefer using the smaller one. I removed about a liter of buckwheat from the large pillow and it was more comfortable.

The jury is still out as far as whether or not I like my pillow, but my five stars is based on the pillow itself, not whether or not I can personally sleep on this style of pillow.

First, there is no odor. When it arrived, I smelled deeply into it and could smell a faint hay-like odor....but after I put a couple pillowcases on it, there was nothing at all. Certainly no chemical smells.

Second...yes it makes some noise, but it's beyond me why people act like it's a big deal. Anything buckwheat or bean bag is going to make noise. We have an air purifier running so that reduces the sound....but it doesn't bother me anyway.

It is heavier than a regular pillow but not heavy as in "too heavy".

My neck is sore a lot and I have sooooo many pillows and am constantly switching back and forth. This pillow seemed too hard the first night. Then, the next night I woke up with less neck pain. But after a few more days, I had some neck pain again and struggled to get comfy. I'm a side sleeper so I have some trouble adjusting everything to be fully pressure-free on my face and jaw.

So lately I went back to my memory foam one, but doubtless I'll rotate this buckwheat pillow back in again. Maybe I need to try removing some hulls...haven't tried that yet. Anyway, it's a good pillow....I'm just a dysfunctional sleeper!

****Update: I'm still using my buckwheat pillow about 75% of the time. I do like how, once you find a spot for your head, it supports it right where you put it! There are nights that it really helps my neck pain. Then other nights I feel like I need something softer, so I will switch it out. It's weird to explain...but if you tend to switch your pillows out, then this is definitely one you need in your lineup. I do use it quite a lot....but I don't think I'm fully used to it as an only pillow yet. I will say that the more I use it, the smoother the hulls seem to get.

I am very happy with the Wheat Dreamz Buckwheat pillow. I was willing to be slightly disappointed if I found it was smaller than stated but for the price advertised how could I miss? Well, when it arrived and I opened the box I was delighted that the size was just as stated. As a matter of fact, with a standard pillow case on it, it is hard to tell the difference from a "regular" pillow.
That is where the similarity ends. I have not had a bad night sleep since I started using the Wheat Dreamz. A few years ago three levels of my spine in my neck were fused. I had almost forgotten what sleeping more than four hours a night was like. The Wheat Dreamz pillow supports my neck and head all night without my having to adjust and readjust the pillow. As soon as I snuggle my head into the "pocket" of buckwheat hulls, the support allows my neck to relax and I fall asleep faster and stay asleep. There is as much support for side sleeping as back sleeping.
Years ago I bought one of the little buckwheat travel pillows at Walgreen's and I really liked it but buckwheat pillows have come a long way since then. I love the zipper opening so I can add or take out/replace the hulls when I need to. The weight of the pillow was a surprise but it stays put and makes for a comfortable nights sleep.
Overall, this has been one of my better decisions. I will certainly buy again from this seller.......Thank you, Bean Products!

I just received my pillow this morning. What fast service! It is just what I want. I have used these type pillows for over 20 years and when I had to throw out my last one, I waited too long to get another. This pillow is perfect for anyone who has neck pain. I just love it. In fact, I ordered another one right after I opened the box. I can't say enough good things about the construction of and comfort of this pillow. Highly recommend.
