Nicely detailed, this ornament is cold cast resin like the Serenity & Reaver ornaments, though doesn't have as much heft to it (which of course is nice if you want to hang them on a tree). Not as much detail as Serenity, but then the shuttle itself didn't since it is normally so much smaller (the ornament is actually slightly larger than the Serenity Ornament). It comes with the exact same base as the Serenity and Serenity in Disguise ornaments with, unfortunately, just the Serenity movie logo and copyright info on the bottom - would have been nice if it would have described the shuttle itself, at least briefly. I imagine the yet to be released Reaver ornament will also have the same base. It is limited to only 5000 pieces making it a smaller edition than the 7000 edition Serenity in Disguise ornament which may make it the rarer (and more valuable) piece in the future. I'm still hoping for a lighted version of the Serenity ornament (which is not a limited edition by the way). As a fan as well as a dealer of this piece, I would have to tell other fans to buy it for sure! As a collector, I would definitely buy it as the future value of it may be higher than the others in the series.

Not a "toy"... not really an "ornament"... more of a "desktop display" item,

This is a very nicely done "premade model." It's not a "toy" (the material it's made, while reasonably robust, isn't intended to hold up under being tossed around the room by little Billy. And while it's possible to hang if from your Christmas Tree (as an "ornament") it's probably a bit on the heavy side for that, unless you stick to the heaviest boughs. It's quite light for an item of its size, in general, mind you! It's just a lot heavier than the typical "non-Hallmark-electronic-gizmo" type ornament... like hanging ten "glass bulb" ornaments. No, the main "use" I see for this is as a display model. The manufacturer obviously planned for this... the hanging loop can be unscrewed and removed, as I've done, and there's a nice (unobtrusive) stand provided. The reason I bought this was as a sort of "study model." I tend to think in 3D, and this lets me get a better grip on just what goes where, and why, in this fictional spacecraft. For instance, I'd never really realized that the engines for the shuttle are all on the underside, below the floor, 'til I got to really review and inspect this model. It looks exactly like what was seen on-screen (and the Serenity carries two of these, so technically it's not "Inara's shuttle" as much as ANY "Firefly" class transport's shuttle). The details are very good, and I'm happy with my purchase. This, and the Serenity Ornament, make a great pair.

I am a big Serenity fan, so very happy with purchase. Can't rate how much fun as a toy, not used that way.
