Wheel Of Fortune 2 - You're Better Of Getting WoF 1,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wheel of Fortune (2nd Edition) (CD-ROM)
It's ashame Hasbro Interactive didn't test this game before selling it. Yes, the graphics are more exciting in this version, and it has updated game play, but there are piles and piles of errors, besides being very very slow. You get bored because the game play is so slow. Sometimes, if you are lucky, it will let you choose an answer for Fill in the Blank puzzles, other times, it will just shut off. Also, sometimes a letter will appear on the screen and remain there for the rest of the game. Many times you get the same fantasy prize 2 or 3 times in the game. This version also repeats puzzles much more often than the previous version. They made it too high tech without really make it "Work." Sorry For Those Of You Who Are Suffering the Same problems.

(...)this game really does rule! It's better than the first because it has all new puzzles, A BONUS ROUND, and better graphics and gameplay. It's very fun and addicting, so if you liked the first wheel of fortune or watch the tv show a lot then go out and buy it!

I liked this verison as much as the first edition. However, the computer players aren't as smart as in the first edition. In the first edition the computer players play to win (just how I like it), but in the second edition, the computer is no fun at all. The computer always picks 'L' as its first letter (which I think is just plan silly). If the computer has alot of money the computer will still spin and risk it all and then with a few letters remaining pick the wrong letter. The computer rarely solves the puzzle, if at all he does. Also, I don't like how you only get ONE guess in the bonus round. In the 1st edition you can guess 'til time runs out on the clock. There are some advtages though. There are new categories, better graphics, and even better animation than before. Plus the game will keep track of how much money all players have won throughout all games played! Get this game, but don't expect it to be better than the 1st edition.

I've played all the version of Wheel of Fortune, from DOS to Windows, the two best versions are the previous version and this one (1st and 2nd edition respectively). I felt that the 1st edition had better wheel spinning animation, but this is a minor issue for me, it's just plain fun! Vanna looks great, I know people have opinions on how she looks, I think she looks good, and people are certainly entitled to their opinion; it's the USA!My only problem with this game was the inability to actually start a game! I didn't know what was wrong, and I had trouble getting in touch with tech support. When I finally did, they apologized for the inconvenience and told me to run dxdiag, the Direct X diagnostic: select start, run then type "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks), click the "sound" tab, then to set my hardware sound acceleration level to "Basic Acceleration" on the pointer and I was all set! If you need your sound acceleration to "full" you can always reset it back after playing it. The new location scenes are good and it has more new fun puzzles to solve. I like the "behind the scenes" and interviews with the cast members. I know people have problems with this and am sorry they didn't like this title; I didn't experience any other performance problems except the above issue and hope they can work the problems out, because it is a great game! Lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyable.

The game just got better,

Yea. This one was even better than the first version. I own the one by Infogames. This one gets you into the contestants seat. Vanna moves a little slow at times, but the game is more fun and has more puzzles and better bonuses. I liked it.

If you enjoy Wheel of Fortune, DON'T BUY THIS!!,

We own WOF 1 and have a lot of fun with it. So, we figured the 2nd edition would be even better, right? Wrong. Vanna looks like some 2-year-old cut her cardboard picture off a cereal box and pasted her on the cheesy, fake-looking background. The sound stinks, the game play is nauseatingly slow. I will say this, however. The graphics on the CD cover are pretty good, and the box itself has an attractive layout. It will look really good on the shelf of your computer desk -- which is where you will leave it when you uninstall it from your hard drive after you suffer through your first game.

I am a HUGE Vanna White fan. I watch Wheel of Fortune every day and i have the Nintendo DS version of the game at home. But i do not like the picture of Vanna White on the cover of Wheel of Fortune 2nd Edition.
