Beware of Encore Products,
By ChrisB "ChrisB" (Los Angeles) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy Bundle (CD-ROM)
First of all, watch out for products made by Encore. They installed a hidden registration program on my system without my knowledge, which seems to pop up every few days and automatically connects to the internet. Not only that but I get a warning message from my firewall protection that their site is trying to connect to my computer WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Since they offer no details about what the hell they're doing, I've been blocking their program. Finally, I hunted down anything that said "encore_reg" on my computer and deleted it. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Unbelievable! I looked in my task manager before deleting and discovered that their registration program was continually running in the background. WTF?? After saying that, if there's any point in commenting on the games, I'll add that Jeopardy is okay, but the same categories come up a little too often. For example, I played a solo game, and then the next day played against a friend and had to tell her I already knew the answers for two of the categories (of course, I could've cheated, but no fun in that). Wheel of Fortune has an infuriating problem where occasionally you don't have enough time to type in all the letters. If there are too many blank spaces when you go to solve a board, you have to be super fast before the countdown times you out. I lost a few games because of this. Also...I don't expect incredible graphics for a computer version of a TV game show, but for both games, the graphics are really lacking considering this is 2010 and it doesn't take much to make something look decent. I mean, how much effort and cost would it have taken to make it look like people are really spinning a wheel? (And not just floating their hand over the pegs). I will say, if you're bored and have nothing better to do, these games can probably serve as an okay diversion, but really, with the sneaky little registration program being installed and their site trying to gain access to my computer, I don't trust them and it's probably not worth it.

I bought the combo of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy for my pc and was EXTREMELY unhappy! Wheel of Fortune would NOT load no matter what I tried. Jeopardy loaded but only played the same two sets of questions over and over. Very lame!!!! Don't buy it and waste your money like I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy Bundle

I have enjoyed the Wheel of Fortune portion. The Jeopardy portion always begins with the same questions, so no challenge unless you spend a great amount of time going to more question sets.

We uses this for family game night, and everyone loves it. It is an excellent way of keeping the mind sharp and something the whole family can enjoy together.

The reason why I don't like this game that much is because you don't have any opponents you can play against in Jeopardy. Also, my disk contained a huge bug. It always replays the game set of clues once I exit out the game. The Wheel of Fortune worked fine, though.

Jepardy is one player only... so if you like playing by yourself this is great.... if you want to play against the computer or against a person you will be disapointed. Wheel of Fortune is too slow. The wheel takes forever just to stop.

Jeooparday doesn't work. Don't waste your money. I could not get it to work on either my or my mom's computer. Wheel of Fortune is fine. Just buy it indivdiually.
