This review is from: The Wheel of Time: The Kalachakra in Context (Paperback)
The title of this book is well chosen. I bought it to get a better sense of the kalachakra teachings' history and how they fit into buddhism. Just as important, I was interested in how the high level kalachakra tantra relates to the Shambhala lineage. The book has sections by different authors, and some writers are a better read than others. Parts of the book I read closely, and other parts I skimmed over. For my use, the book goes too deeply into the stages of the kalachakra initiation, as if it were a do-it-yourself project. Generally the book did what I wanted, it put the teachings in the larger context of buddhism and Shambhala, and helped me establish a time frame for them.
