5.0 out of 5 stars A great game gets a decent home version., December 6, 2000

This review is from: Wheel of Fortune, 1999 Edition (Board Game)
"Wheel of Fortune" celebrates it's 25th anniversary in 2001. This has little to do with this game version. Just some useless trivia.

Hasbro has done a good job with this one. It more closely resembles the Tyco editions from the '80s and early '90s than the Milton Bradley version from the '70s. For those of you who remember the MB version, that is a good thing. The game board is sturdy and the puzzles just challenging enough to make it fun to play. And ever so slightly annoying. They've even included a plastic wheel... not seen since the "Deluxe" version.

I bought this game about 4 years ago and it is so much fun! It's just like the real thing. Using phony money you spin the wheel for letter value, buy vowels and put your brain to work. It comes with cards with phrases on them and you must slide a randomly-chosen card into the plastic show-board and slowly reveal it buy guessing the correct letters of the phrase. Score-pads are included for keeping track of the letters that you already know aren't in the phrase and all of the letters of the phrase revealed. It's pretty educational(dealing w/ money and word-guessing, which will definately improve spelling). It's fairly durable considering the facts. The scoresheets and funny money are paper, the phrase-cards are cardboard and all else is plastic, so it really was made sensably. It's great for teens and adults. Competition included, brains necessary. It's FUN.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than ever, except since the deluxe edition, October 20, 2002

The NEW edition of the Wheel of Fortune is out and it empresses me than the last edition. 98 puzzles to choose from, brand new wheel and wedges make this an very great game. You can play solo or with a group of people. Finding letters on the puzzles are easier than ever, just look in a booklet full of answers making this game great for not only multiplay, but solo play. Mostly I like the letter board to the wheel. A couple of years ago edition was made out of paper, this wheel is actually made of plastic, but only with 12 spaces for varying money results, it is still great. Amust buy and one of the cheapest great games you can get.
