Editorial Reviews

Known the world over as THE WHEELIE KING, Doug Domokos performed his spectacular motorcycle stunts at motocross tracks, Super Cross, Monster Truck shows, Mud Bogs, and all types of motorcyle exhibitions and events in every one of the United States and many countries across the globe. ** Doug started on a 2-wheeled motorcycle in the early years of his career. He later added a 3-wheeled ATV, using it to perform his incredible Hi-Wire and Rollover stunts. He was listed several times in the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS, most notably for his 145-mile wheelie and 12-man wheelie. Some of his most difficult stunts have never been duplicated. ** This documentary shows actual footage of THE WHEELIE KING performing his stunts in shows worldwide. In this film are recent interviews with his close friends: Amy Ritchie from RedBudMX Racetrack, Larry Huffman (Motor-sports announcer), Gene Woods (Former Speedway Champion), Bryon Farnsworth (Former Kawasaki Exec), James Cavanaugh (Exec Producer of On Any Sunday II), and Goat Breaker (Motocross Racer/Promoter). Kirk Trainor, who now owns Doug's customized bikes, also shows us the real secrets of how they work. Doug was killed in an Ultra-light accident in November of 2000. In 2002, he was inducted into the American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Fame. Those of us who knew Doug or have seen him perform will never forget him. This film is a loving tribute to a true pioneer in motorcycle history. ** Doug left a very young son, Nikolas. The NIKOLAS DOMOKOS TRUST was established to help provide Nikolas with health care, welfare, and schooling while he is a minor. Proceeds from this film will go towards the Trust.

A good video on Doug Domokos. I only wish they had included footage of him doing wheelies on more of a variety of motorcycles such as say a Kawasaki KZ1300 which I've seen photos of him doing a wheelie on!

I saw Doug at the Superdome in New Orleans
1978 when I was 10, ride the entire super cross track on a wheelie and then .. ride it backwards with a passenger .. been a fan ever since.
This is a great documentary of his life
