Not to mention attractive to the opposite sex ...Life's for Living: Like most people in the impoverished East End of the 1920s, Joan has her crosses to bear - and her biggest one by far is her husband. A good for nothing drinker and gambler, he perishes one day in a fire of his own drunken making. Joan's new-found freedom leads her to Eric Roussel, a successful, charismatic businessman. It looks like she's found the happy ending she deserves - until she learns that Eric is hiding his own secrets ...
