I just bought this book Saturday at the book store and when I started to read through it, it was just too cute & I had to buy it. On Monday, I read it to my Preschool class (4-5 year olds) and they LOVED IT! It's easy for them to follow along and they where chiming in as I read it. Also they caught on to the pattern and would say the words before I read them. I also taught them the hand motions too. They kept singing it later. If your child(ren) love to sing "Wheels on the Bus" then will love this book.

I was at Lime Rock Racetrack in Connecticut in May 2005 and saw this car on the seat of a sportscar people were oogling. Extremely curious of the book - I found the car owner, had him open the car and read the book. I was in love - my students, who design racecars and a racetrack in my art class would love it, so I came home and ordered it!!! My 2 year old niece gets a kick out of the sing/song and adores the illustrations - which my students find all the dual meanings to! I just met the author at another Lime Rock race and bought 2 more books - ENJOY!!!

I agree with all of the praise that others have given for this book: great pictures, fun verses, etc. An added feature is also the way it can be used with children working on improving speech skills. I work in early childhood special education and serve many children who receive speech therapy. The verses in the book have sounds in them that are common ones the children I see are working to produce/practice: z & p("zizz", "zip"), g ("glug", "go"), v & m ("vroom"). With the familiar tune to sing along with this is a fun way to work on speech skills-for every child.

The Wheels on the Race Car has been a huge hit with the kids I've given it to (their parents love it too). You can read it, you can sing it, the illustrations are fabulous - highly recommended for ages 6 months on up.

This book is a variation of "The Wheels on the Bus." Usually I dislike it when books take classic songs or stories and "update" them, generally with winky wording to amuse the grownups. But this one isn't like that, it's very simple and repetitive with easy refrains for children to join in on. I've found it to be very popular among the young children I teach. The race track is a fun, different setting for a children's book - it's nice to get off the farm sometimes! Great illustrations of all the animals (and their cars!). I highly recomend this book for preschoolers.

My son LOVES this book--we sing it all day long! The pictures are very detailed and my son loves to look at them, spotting something new everytime.

My 2 year old son received this book for his birthday a few months ago and he has demanded that we read it every night since. A great spin-off of the classic childrens' song and the illustrations are beautiful!

you will too - great new sounds to add to the repertoire. Just when you thought that "wheels on the bus" was going to drive you crazy!

My son is three, and obsessed with race cars. The illustrations are great, and give him lots to look at. He likes to count the race cars, and sing the song. Highly recommended.

My preschooler and I heard this book read at a library story time. We checked it out. Now I'm buying it. It's a given that he likes the subject and the song. The best part for me is that he's trying to read the book himself. He reads it to me and to his brother. He even read it to a friend of mine and her daughter.

The illustrations keep us busy too. He picks up on small details in the pictures and tells me stories about the drivers, especially the bad sport penguin.
