We were very disappointed when we received this. First of all, the description does not list it as the battle damaged version and that's not what we wanted, but it is what we received. My daughter needed it for a classroom presentation the day after it arrived so there was no way to return it to order it again and hope to receive the correct one the next time. Secondly, the package was bashed in inside the shipping box, so it was packed at the distribution center that way. Had my daughter wanted to add it to her other boxed Star Trek collectibles, she would not have been able to. It had to come out of the box for the presentation so it was a mute point this time, but we will not order any more Star Trek collectibles from Amazon in the future. Between it being the wrong item and the display box being damaged before even packing it for shipping, it is not worth the risk.

This is a fine little model of the Enterprise D. The body of the ship is metal but the saucer and the nacelles are plastic. The connector of the ship to the base is flimsy and looks like it could easily break off. This ship is a nice, smaller-than-most model but would not be appropriate as a toy for children because of its plastic and flimsy base construction.

Not a bad little model,

I like the detail on this model - it's a bit smaller than I expected at about 6 inches overall. I'm not sure how they calculate 1/50 scale - it would have to be 12.85 meters long to be 1/50 scale! This is more like 1/4215 scale. I guess they're basing it off the models built for the show/movies.
