Mike Richardson's book delighted me with both interesting stories and provocative new concepts. He provides fresh metaphors on what is in essence a systems thinking approach to strategic management. It's not a breezy read, you have to read actively and think deeply to appreciate and utilize his concepts. As Sir Francis Bacon once put it, "Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention." Mike`s book falls into the chew and digest category.
