I have no idea what album Alanna Nash of Amazon was listening to when she wrote her review but it certainly wasn't Alabama's latest masterpiece, "When It All Goes South". 3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Solid Listen
Alabama has never been one of my favorite groups, but the disc is a solid effort. The title track is a great departure from their sound and a very buoyant enjoyable tune. With her scathing remarks in the review, it would seem that Ms. Nash had a bad ear day.

I have no idea what album Alanna Nash of Amazon was listening to when she wrote her review but it certainly wasn't Alabama's latest masterpiece, "When It All Goes South". This album includes some of the greatest work from country music's all-time greatest band (sorry Alanna, their long list of hits and awards, their 60 million plus units, and their longevity speaks for itself, this is no "bar band"). There's something for everyone in this wonderful collection. And Randy Owen once again demonstrates that after over thirty years of making music, he still has one of the richest voices in the business. This is a "must have" for any ALABAMA fan or for someone who simply appreciates songs with excellent lyrics, arrangements, musicianship, and yes, the best harmonies in country music. What's more, it's a new and "fresh" sound, something that's so rare in this day and age. If the group's hope was for a grammy, their right on target with this incredible album.

Alabama returns with another collection of great songs and great harmonies. I am having a hard time choosing a favorite song off of the cd....there are alot of them to choose from. "The Woman He Loves", "I can't Love You Any Less"..a nice country sounding song "Simple As That" "You Only Paint the Picture Once"...the list goes on. So many great songs ...listening to this cd will definately be "A Wonderful Waste Of time" as Jeff puts it. "When it all goes South" the title track will have you singing along as well. This cd is a must for all of you Alabama fans....young and old

5.0 out of 5 stars WHEN IT ALL GOES SOUTH, January 16, 2001
This review is from: When It All Goes South (Audio CD)
Alanna, I have heard this CD and love it! I have been an ALABAMA fan since the 1980's and will always be one. I think it is unfair the way you cut the group down. It is obvious that this has hit a sensitive spot with you. If you don't like a particular song or album/CD than just say it. You don't need to bash the group as a whole or individually! This group does more for charities than any other group does. Yes they started out at the bottom which is apparently is where you are stuck. These boys worked very hard at what they do and they are the best! Maybe what you need to do is part with some money and attend an ALABAMA concert and see how loyal their fans are. This is a group of GOOD OL' BOYS who care about something other than just their money. I would like to see the reviews that you might give to a rapper talking about killing or anyother group that you may wish to bash. Hopefully next time you will "think faster than your fingers type." Be a professional in the future. Thanks from a dedicated ALABAMA fan! By the way I heard some of these songs at the PA. STATE FAIR and couldn't wait till it came out! You should have been there to hear roar from the crowd and see the standing ovation when they played these new hits!

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY THE BEST, February 4, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: When It All Goes South (Audio CD)
This CD is great. The more you listen the better it gets. Randy Owen's voice is amazing, no one sings a song like he does. Alanna review of this CD was crude and uncalled for. Alabama paid their dues in Myrtle Beach at "that bar", they played for tips for several summers, they never gave up. RCA definitely made a great choice when they signed these boys from Fort Payne, "still going strong" after all these years. I just cannot pick a favorite from this CD. Will You Marry Me? is great, Clear Across America Tonight, Simple As That, Start Living, these guys know what kind of music to put out. I highly recommend this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back by popular DEMAND!, January 21, 2001

Alabama has endured time to stand as one, if not the top, country band in the US and the world. Ms. A. Nash has no idea or taste in music and to be honest, many music listeners wonder if this person even has an ear for music? Through the many long hours in the recording studio and the thousands of miles traveled to bring their music to all who have followed the band from the days in Ft. Payne has proudly listened and loved the music that is brought us so much enjoyment. Many of Alabama's songs has touched us and even described us and carried through our days and evenings. Alabama will long be remembered by many that is the greatest band to have come through the decades with such powerful lyrics. We in the South salute the members of Alabama and the many roadies who helped bring the band to our back yards!

First of all I have a new career in mind for sox the cat. Give the cat Allana's job..it could do a better job. This cd is a crown jewel in the career of the band. It's fantastic. fun loving and heart felt lyrics abound. I love it and i'm looking foward to the next 22 cd's. And remember..if all is not right in your life...get in the camper...if you've listened to the cd...you'll know exactly what i'm talking about. I think this is by far the best album from Alabama yet!

5.0 out of 5 stars When It All Goes South - compliment, not cut, June 5, 2002
By
This review is from: When It All Goes South (Audio CD)
Alabama has done it again! When It All Goes South is fresh while remaining true to country music.

Being a southerner, I can attest that "going south" is a compliment, not a derogatory remark. Alanna, you contradict yourself when you say, "Alabama, a bar-band that went farther than it ever should have, ran out of creative juice long, long ago," after stating, "[Alabama] racked up 42 No. 1 hits and 22 albums from 1980 to 2000."

I think the music speaks for itself, and those who listen to it will agree. I am a MUSIC fan, not a "country" music fan, and I love this album. No one can do it like the boys in the band. Alabama, you will be missed!
