Biography

Grammy Award winner Peter Frampton is one of the most celebrated guitarists in rock history. At 16, he was lead singer and guitarist for British teen band, the Herd. At 18, he co-founded one of the first super groups, seminal rock act Humble Pie. Frampton recorded five albums with Humble Pie, before leaving in 1971 to pursue a solo career.

Few were prepared for the success of 1976's live album… Read more in Amazon's Peter Frampton Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Frampton album since Comes Alive, March 8, 2009
This review is from: When All the Pieces Fit (Audio CD)
I just listened to this album. I hadn't heard it in years. It definately has an 80's feel to it. Honestly though the music is solid. This whole album is a gem. Worth every penny.

They're all good but songs like:

Holding On To You

This Time Around

Back To The Start

People All Over The World

More Ways Than One

Make this album fantastic. One of the most underated/overlooked albums of the 80's.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frampton Works on Making All the Pieces Fit, July 21, 2007
This review is from: When All the Pieces Fit (Audio CD)
Peter Frampton was immortalized in 1976 for the smash live 2 album set: Frampton Comes Alive.
It's been mostly downhill from there, unfortunately for Peter. All of his albums are guitar focused, but most
of the songs on this cd are all upbeat rockers in that overblown 80's style. I think honest assessments of music are essential to learning about rare cds like this one.

Heavy overdubs on the vocals and echo are liberally used. The songs themselves have a Frank Ballard type of feel to them (the man who wrote most of Roger Daltery's solo songs.) This is not an easy cd to find: it came out in 1989 on Atlantic Label. This was the year that Frampton also toured with David Bowie. At times, like in `Mind Over Matter', the guitars scream and are pushed to maximum limit by Frampton. Very reminiscent of a Humble Pie tune.

Very few people own this cd, or have even seen it. There are only a couple of reviews anywhere on the internet for it, it's that obscure. It was the fourth in a series of four ignored Peter Frampton cds in the 80's: Breaking All the Rules, The Art of Control, Premonition, and When All the Pieces Fit. They are decent releases, but they didn't distinguish themselves from other similar sounding cds in the 80's. To be honest, that is the mark of MOST of the albums of the 80's: 1000's of rock sound-a-likes with overproduced studio albums with cool distinct vocals and guitars. Studio all the way.

If you are a Frampton fan, you will definitely enjoy this cd. I own most of his cds, including his Herd and Humble Pie cds and enjoyed most of the songs on this cd. For under $10, this cd is a steal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shut up, Ali., June 8, 2005

While "Premonition" is the better of Peter Frampton's two Atlantic Records releases, this one is still good too. The best song on this one is "Holding On To You". Other highlights on the album are:

More Ways Than One
Back To The Start
Now And Again
