Laugh and then laugh some more,

This review is from: When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head?: Learning to Embrace the Woman You've Become (Paperback)
When my husband came home with this book I was a little miffed.....I hoped he wasn't saying I resembled Mrs. Potato Head. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down. The author's stories of her life ring true to any woman not just those in the menopausal stage of life. I just turned 26 and could see myself all through the book. The book is also about God's love for us and how to enhance that relationship. A wonderful read.

As I started reading the book I realized that I relate to a lot of the topics, even though I am only 25. The book made me laugh, cry, and think about important things in life. It really helped me look at getting older in a different perspective. I would recommend this book not only to older women, but also to 25 year olds!

This book is funny, real, practical and brings you to important things in life... pointing the reader to the love and grace of God.Mary shares her heart, her sense of humor and her life stories in a really wonderful way. It can be read all at once, or enjoyed and savored one chapter at a time, which is what I did. There are helpful questions that make you think at the end of each chapter. I loved it.

We used this book to begin our Women's Book Club at our church. It was an excellent book to start with as it was not only funny, but also thought provoking. All of our ladies felt open to share to the questions after each chapter. It was a great way for us to get to know on another.

Every chapter I read in this is wonderful! I am so happy to see that I am not the only one who feels this way - I laugh until I cry! I really enjoy how she takes ordinary, everyday experiences for women and ties them in to the bigger picture. So many Christian based books are more like a lecture series and are difficult to associate them with your life. Mary has taken all of the grit and toil with being a woman and mother and let us know that it is all part of God's plan - even on days when we feel less than perfect. I will be passing this book on to every female in my family!!
