Transplanted Yankee Gives Book Five Stars,
This review is from: When the Buddha Met Bubba (Paperback)
I give "When the Bubba Met Budda" five stars, because I couldn't put it down. It kept me up at nights. I passed the book around to friends, and they all felt the same way. Buy this book if you want a humorous take on redemption, yours or anyone else's. This is a great read.

This review is from: When the Buddha Met Bubba (Paperback)
What beautiful words come to tell this wonderful and moving story of the Buddha & Bubba. I laughed almost as much as I cried, and there was plenty on both accounts. These characters are superbly steeped in the reality and richness and trials of what it means to be human. You won't find frivolous prose here. It can be both disturbingly and deliciously direct, however, the fruits that are offered are those of enlightnment and compassion, and Richard keeps wetting our appetite. I sense this book is on a mission. May it continue to find itself in the hands and hearts of those it seeks to speak to. There is a little Bubba and a little Buddha in all of us.

a Lot of Heart,
This review is from: When the Buddha Met Bubba (Paperback)
I was lucky enough to stumble across this book, and I really loved it. I was really touched by its humor and heart and its belief in the potential for redemption and personal growth that we all have. None of us are perfect, but we can all be better than we are!Highly recommended.

This review is from: When the Buddha Met Bubba (Paperback)
Whent the Buddha Met Bubba is one of my favorite books (if not, THE favorite)! I couldn't put it down until I read it all in one sitting (and I don't have that much time avaiable to read due to my full-time job, part-time school, family responsibilities, etc.; however I pretty much neglected them all until I finished reading the book. The book was a powerful story, much like an adventure of a lifetime, and one that will never be forgotten. It has all the elements of a great book, and should be Dixie Hartwell's, aka John Lee, best-seller yet. His story made me cry, get angry, laugh, scratch my head, ponder the very meaning of life, religion, spirituality, quality of life and relationships, and was an awe-insipring experience that changed my life in countless ways. I was able to escape my own reality and felt compelled to change it for the better. It was like a rollercoaster ride of intense emotions. His depiction of the essence of mere mortals and "a greater power" was one that should influence everone who reads it. I can't wait for the movie to come out, and I believe it will be a box-office smash! I hope this author gives up his "day job" to write more books like this one. It truly is an amazing piece of literature that everyone should read.Kathy Lee McClellalnd |
