I can't say enough good things about Zak Morgan. First of all, his lyrics are just so clever and witty. He has a way with words that my kids, and my husband and I, just adore. "When I was younger, my muscles were firm, a terrific and terrible flame throwing worm," from "Its a Drag to be a Dragon," is just one example that comes to mind of his lyrical abilities. Secondly, his music is FUN, my kids dance, sing, and shout his songs to each other. And thirdly, he is a gem of a person. We've been to two of his concerts and he genuinely likes children. He treats the kids that come to his concerts like he and they are all in on one big joke. You cannot go wrong in buying this CD or his first release, "Bloom."

This is one of the best kids' CDs in our collection, because it is equally enjoyable for my husband and me as it is for our kids. Too many kids' CDs have insipid melodies, horrible singing, or trite lyrics. Not so with Zak Morgan, whose music is mostly accoustic guitar based. His sound is a bit like Bare Naked Ladies meets Cat Stevens. (In fact, this CD includes the Cat Stevens song "Peace Train," which translates well into a children's song. My two-year-old son loves it.) I would highly recommend adding Zak Morgan to your CD collection, especially if you're tired of listening to bad, synthesizer-overloaded covers of "Old MacDonald" over and over again on family trips. You won't find that on this CD--instead, you'll find fresh, fanciful lyrics, catchy melodies, and great musical arrangements. If it weren't for the kid-friendly subject matter, you might swear you were listening to your favorite alternative acoustic band.

We came across this CD by accident in 2003 -- When Bullfrogs Croak was a free download featured (with permission of the copyright holder) on a parenting web site. We later ordered the CD, and it had been at the top of our kids' music lists ever since.

Zak's music is timeless and ageless -- adults have as much fun (and sometimes more) fun with Zak's music as kids do. Our 5 year old and 2 year old dance around the living room every time this CD is on, and we used the CD as background music for our last birthday party.

You will NOT be disappointed with this purchase!

My (...) boys love this CD, and ask to listen to "my music" whenever we get in the car. The [younger] especially loves the bullfrog and the cribling songs. The [elder] loves the cribling and unicorn songs. I get a kick out of the clever humor, fun vocabulary and bright melodies. Finally non-cutsey kids' music that parents can enjoy as much as the kids!!

We met Zak when he performed at The Cloister. The kids loved him - I bought the CD and I am so glad we did. His music is so much fun and humorous. We listen to it over and over. It is so rare to find music that both kids and parents can enjoy. We just bought Bloom and love it as well. I highly recommend them both!
