Despite the unfortunate title..., November 8, 2010
This review is from: When Children Invite Child Abuse: A Search for Answers When Love Is Note (Paperback)
This is one of the best books I ever read on children who struggle - with learning disabilities, sensory issues, focusing, or just plain following rules. This book will help you get inside your child ( or student)'s head so that you can figure out how to help them out of the cycle that very typically DOES include child abuse.
The consultants for this book were the top child development experts in the country. It is a far better book than any of the more popular books with catchier titles by authors who can describe the symptoms and know some good techniques but don't really understand the disorders behind poor or ineffective behavior. This book takes you to right to the heart of the matter and helps you understand it and then gives you the tools you need to deal with it. I'm disappointed that there aren't a hundred reviews - it shows that this book is not being read by enough people.
