5.0 out of 5 stars Great cd remastered beautifully December 5, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Each of Deniece William's early releases were amazing and great displays of her vocal range and talent. With each release we got to see her grow more and more into herself as a performer and artist. From day one she had the voice of an angel that would send shivers up and down your spine. Her range is unrivaled but even more important is the raw emotion she puts into each song. WHEN LOVE COMES CALLING was her third album and a great step for her career as she ventured more into the pop/mainstream scene. But Ms. Williams never sold out. This is her first pop record and none of her vocal stylings, inspired interpretations or superb song selections is in question. At this time disco was the craze and all artists had to do their disco song. For Deniece Williams it was I'VE GOT THE NEXT DANCE and it is amazing. It is true disco but as with most disco where the beat overpowers the vocals she still shines above the great rhythm and music track. She shines as she puts her soul into this song. Then we have her ventures into pop. I FOUND LOVE, WHEN LOVE COMES CALLING and TURN AROUND are gems. But her true soul/r@b roots are still here in true form. The haunting ARE YOU THINKING is r@b magic and her vocals here are exsquisite building to an amazing chorus. TOUCH ME AGAIN is true Deniece Williams. It is an acoustic ballad with very little instrumentation and an emotional tour de force performance by Deniece. Amazing. LIKE MAGIC is a new sound for Deniece. It is a very uptempo jazzy track and it is amazing to hear her voice run all over the scale. GOD KNOWS and WHY CAN'T WE FALL IN LOVE are beautiful pop ballads.

I cannot recommend this cd enough. It showcases Deniece Williams singing all styles of music and her voice is truly in its prime as is the exsquisite instrumentation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Dance Soul Funk April 8, 2008
Format:Audio CD
This is by far one of Deniece's best albums. Her vocals are showcased to the highest level. Showing that she can sing both dance number's and great R&B soul. The dance songs on here are the best from I've Got The Next Dance to Love Comes Calling she really lets the listener really groove to her funky beat. The opening durm beats on both songs are to die for and then add her five octave vocal range and you have a match made in dance heaven. When this album was released in 1976 I was just entering High Scool and somehow I found the money to buy this album and man am I glad I did. That was when I really got into Nicey. Her voice is the voice that all others should be compared to from Whitney to Mariah to Beyonce. This Lady Can Sing! I have waited for yearssss for this album to be released on CD and Thank God it has been..a must for any true person who loves great music and a great vocal performance by a very much underrated artisit. Why Can't We Fall In Love? will make you love your person so deeply and passionalty that you will be thinking Nicey for all time..A MUST HAVE!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars great times February 22, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This cd brngs me back to a point where i was in the eighties looking for the next dance party a chance t mingle wth people of the other sex. The music is on point and Denice is at here best on the title tune and the backing of EWF is icing on a three level cake with dance songs, smooth ballards and even a pinch of spiritualty. tags soul, dance, musical storybook

5.0 out of 5 stars Before there was Whitney .... December 2, 2011
By Jim
Format:Audio CD
... there was Deniece Williams on this album. The reviews below capture the record's delightful spirit and vibe. I would just add that the album was produced by David Foster, one of the greatest pop producers of all time. His arrangement of I Found Love, coupled with Deniece's incredible vocal, are worth the price of the record alone. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Denise Williams When Love Comes Calling April 6, 2007
Format:Audio CD
I cannot believe I am the first person to revue this album when love comes calling! I got the next dance was a huge disco hit in 1979 and Denise's vocals on this track are excellent. She is a VERY VERY under rated UK artist. All I can say is I was there when this was released thought it was amazing then and still do,You will not be disappointed by this album if only for that track. It rocks!!!
