I not only have read this book but have also had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Williams and hearing her speak at a luncheon, if you have never had the pleasure, let me assure you she can keep you enthralled and on the edge of your seat with her stories and mannerisms. She is a wonderful story teller and I highly recommend that you read her book. I just wish her tour schedule of downtown San Antonio was more publicized so that i could get tickets.

This book was interesting to me because I love ghost stories, especially when they involve places that I'm familiar with. I'm planning on visiting some of the places in the book. However, I had a few problems with it. I did not like the way many of the Bed and Breakfast stories read like a commercial. Please don't try to sell me on the place, just tell me the ghost story. I especially hated the plugs at the end of the story that even gave the number to call for reservations. I also dislike the way the author wasted space by telling us the trail she followed to get to her source. "First I called so-and-so but he didn't know anything and told me to call so-and-so who didn't know anything either but he told me to call so-and-so.... etc" I don't care how many people you had to call to get your story as long as you tell me who you finally ended up talking to. Part of being a reporter means calling lots of people but you don't include everyone you called along the way. One more thing I disliked was her frequent mention of her first book. I don't like being told to go buy another book if I want a full story. Either give me the whole story or don't mention it at all.

Being born in San Antonio, I found this book extremely interesting and the history behind the tales fascinating. Anyone planning to visit or has visited San Antonio should make this book a "must read". For the reader interested in ghosts, this will help fulfill your appetite for great ghost stories!

Don't waste your money!,

This book reads like an advertisement for the author's first book and her tours. Repeatedly, the author says that she covered this story in her first book, but she's just going to mention it here. And she repeatedly mentions what happened during her tours. There is not adequate coverage of the really famous San Antonio hauntings - in fact, I know more about some of these hauntings than the author tells, and I only lived in San Antonio for 9 months. I'm sorry I wasted my money buying this book!
