Ridiculous, July 12, 1998
This review is from: When the Devil Dares Your Kids: Protecting Your Children from Satanism, Witchcraft, and the Occult (Paperback)
Another work of paranoia making the work of God look evil through lies and false witness. This kind of erroneous and deceptive material is why Pagans are the hardest group in America to witness to.

A MUCH MORE "REASONABLE" BOOK THAN ITS TITLE AND 1ST CHAPTER WOULD SUGGEST, June 20, 2011
This review is from: When the Devil Dares Your Kids: Protecting Your Children from Satanism, Witchcraft, and the Occult (Paperback)
Robert "Bob" (1951-2003) & Gretchen Passantino wrote Christian apologetics and "anti-cult" books such as
Answers to the Cultist at Your Door,
Satanism and
Witch Hunt. In the 1970s and 1980s they were associated with Walter Martin's Christian Research Institute. Later they began to operate their own apologetics and countercult ministry known as "Christian Apologetics: Research and Information Service," which they later renamed "Answers in Action."
The book's first chapter is entitled, "Satan Wants Your Child," but the rest of the book (see quotations below) is actually much more "moderate."
Here are some quotations from the book:
"Most contemporary witches do not practice all of the occult arts denounced in the Bible and are understandably offended when well-meaning but misinformed Christians dismiss their beliefs with a few trite references to inapplicable Scriprures." (Pg. 52)
"Most fans understand the symbolic nature of the satanism they see and hear from their favorite metal bands, but their absorption of these ideas is still dangerous. Whether the fan seriously studies satanism or not, he or she continually reinforces the selfish destructiveness that characterizes both metal music and satanism." (Pg. 118)
"The Lauren Stratford story is the most well-known example of occult criminal charges that are unfounded. Lauren Stratford ... wrote her story, the bestselling
Satan's Underground: The Extraordinary Story of One Woman's Escape, telling of child sexual abuse, rape, kiddie porn, ritualistic abuse, prostitution, torture, brainwashing, and child sacrifice by an interstate group of satanists... In fact, the evidence showed that her story was NOT true." (Pg. 141-142)
"Actual demon possession is very rare. The entire Bible records only a few instances of genuine demon possession." (Pg. 208)
