Product Description

This book is focused on helping today's career woman choose behaviors that work for her through increased self-knowledge. At the same time, letting her know that it is entirely possible for her to adhere to her own personal values while applying her proven organizational abilities in all areas of her life.

As leading coaches of executive women in North America, the authors have a unique understanding of female perceptions that affect their work and home life challenges along with what approaches have worked well for their female clients. They recognize that many women dance to the tune of 'Just because I can, I believe I should.' This self-coaching guide helps you explore your natural talents, focus on what you do best and how to manage your stress and default behaviors.

In this inspiring book you’ll discover why gender continues to be an issue and how the multitude of expectations placed upon women have created a generation of exhausted and weary women who are not getting the life they want.

The book deserves to be read by all women who strive to achieve fulfillment in both their personal and professional lives. In the book, the authors deftly examine the reasons behind why so many articulate and well-educated women today feel overwhelmed and underappreciated. This self-coaching guide shows over-burdened and over-committed women how to reclaim their time and life.

The compelling insights offered are designed to enable you to move forward with increasing ease. While many books talk about what you can do to improve your situation, few offer as many practical tools that you can put to use immediately. There is much more in this book than pithy advice.

Let's be clear, this book isn't just for the dissatisfied. It is a prescription for indentifying the various aspects of your life that make you unique, without which, you may never be able to understand why you behave or react the way you do.

As you embrace the concepts in the book and become a more effective leader, you’ll learn how you can negotiate what you want and fine tune your time management skills.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great lessons for my future career, January 25, 2012
This workbook was recommended to me by my mother and I'm glad I took a look. I am starting a new career and being self-aware of the themes in this book will hopefully help me succeed. It's rare that I actually take the time to write down my strengths, weaknesses and priorities in life, and I am glad that I did. Definitely a good read for women balancing work and home life, but also for those of us just beginning this journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Women Leaders, July 28, 2011
This review is from: When Doing It All Won't Do: A Self-Coaching Guide for Career Women (Kindle Edition)
I love this book! It's presented in a simple, easy-to-grasp format, the examples are real and the applications are practical. Best part? If you're like me, you don't have lots of time to study, so you'll be relieved to learn that you don't have to read the whole book to reap the benefits. But get ready...once John and Barb's book opens you to their fresh perspective, you'll want to keep reading so you can apply the principles right away in your career. Thank you for creating such a valuable tool for professional women who are committed to ongoing development!
