This book makes an excellent evangelistic tool, as the way of salvation is clearly taught and explained through the book's action. This is not the usual Christian inspirational book. Rather, it is the blunt and difficult story of one man's journey from his church to the foot of the cross, and from self-doubt to self-realization. The debates with Jesuit priests at Boston College are unlike anything now in print. The author has lived this and he has been there. As in most things in life, there is no substitute for experience. Knowing the mind of the opposition comes from constant contact with the opposition, and not from taking a course on the subject.
