Jean at her very best., January 20, 2006
These two classic albums were among Jean's classiest and most gorgeous albums ever. "All I Really Need Is You", "Mystic Stranger", "Don't Say No To Love", "Start The Fire" and Jean's amazing cover version of the Spinners' classic "Love Don't Love Nobody" are your reasons for buying this great CD. While Jean never enjoyed the commercial success and strong record sales she so richly deserved these two albums offer irrefutable proof of her amazing and enormous talent.

A True Diva Never Says Die, April 14, 2006
This is a sizzling love affair. Jazz, r&b and opera are all incorporated in this lovely affair. I love me some Jean Carne.
I don't understand why people are so damn stoooooooopid! These two showcases her creamy vocals but her outstanding range as well. Miss Girl sounds better than them American Idol people.
"When I Find You Love" album is such a gorgeous affair. Title track is off da hook. My song is "Start The Fire". Miss Girl's got me going with Keep it Burning! "Lonely Girl In A Cold Cold World" is so funky!
Sweet And Wonderful showcased her sassiness. From "Bet Your Lucky Star", to the end, it is simply beautiful. I enjoy "We Got Some Catchin' Up To Do"!
Bottom line is: Cop dis!

Beautiful, soulful and jazz-flavored musicianship., June 18, 1999
This review is from: When I Find You Love/Sweet & Wonderful (Audio CD)
Jean Carn possesses one of the most beautiful voices of our age...wonderfully expressive and flexible...crystal clear and strong. To have these two albums, from the artist's later tenure on the PIR label, on one cd is truly a gift. The Gamble and Huff/Philly organization gave these efforts their all...and Jean Carn added her unmistakeable, considerable talent to make it a totally personal statement. STAND-OUTS: "When I Find You Love," "My Love Don't Come Easy," "All I Really Need Is You," [where Philly sound meets the Carpenters, with stunning results), "Lonely Girl in A Cold, Cold World," "Was That All It Was," [a huge club hit in '79-'80], "Don't Say No to Love," [an incredibly beautiful ballad with a very beautiful vocal], her version of the Spinners' "Love Don't Love Nobody" [a major r&b classic featuring a Grammy-worthy vocal], "We Got Some Catching Up to Do," "Mystic Stranger," and the churchy-pop of "I Just Thought of A Way." "Start The Fire," bears one of Ms. Carn's most incredible, "gymnastic" vocal performances, guaranteed to knock your socks off (if you were wearing socks to begin with!). The remaining songs and performances are strong. Highly recommended, especially for WHEN I FIND YOU LOVE.
