Book Description

Debbie Macomber’s Blossom Street and Cedar Cove series have won thousands of fans, thanks to her signature blend of heartfelt romance, delightful humor, and warm wisdom. Now, in this original short story available exclusively as an eBook, Macomber shares a sneak peek into her new series set in Cedar Cove, which features Jo Marie, before she becomes the owner of the beloved Rose Harbor Inn.

From the moment Jo Marie sits next to Paul inside the Seattle Seahawks’ stadium, she feels a spark. Paul’s striking blue eyes and kind smile tell her that he’s someone special—different from any man she’s met before. When they strike up a conversation, Jo Marie and Paul realize how much they have in common, yet there’s one thing keeping them from a fairy-tale ending: Paul is in the military and will ship out of Seattle within the next six weeks. As Jo Marie wonders if she should once again open her heart, she decides that, no matter the stakes, she can’t forgo her chance at true love.

Includes a heartwarming excerpt from The Inn at Rose Harbor, the upcoming first novel in Debbie Macomber’s new series.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save Your 99 cents July 31, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This short story took about 5 minutes to read. It's a prequel to Debbie Macomber's new book. She should have done with Jennifer Weiner did with Swim and The Next Best Thing, have the short story free to get people excited for the main novel. This short story that I spent 99 cents on left me feeling ripped off and the probablity of me buying the book that goes with this story is very low.

Also, I don't think that by not reading this story you are at a disadvantage. I would bet that this whole story will be summarized in The Inn at Rose Harbor.

1.0 out of 5 stars FEELING RIPPED OFF July 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I know the description said the short story included an excerpt from the book. But what I really got was a long segment of the book that included a very short preface story. I wouldn't have paid a dollar for this story -- it was very prefunctory. I feel like I paid a dollar for an advertising insert instead of a real story.

2.0 out of 5 stars short story indeed August 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was very disappointed in how short it was. I thought I had purchased a book/novel only to find it really was a short story. It was like reading a chapter because then they wanted you to order a continuation/sequel. The come-on was, "Want to know what happens next to Jo Marie? order 'The Inn at Rose Harbor.'" Not worth 99 cents.

YAHHHHH WHOOOOO.....What a great way to introduce a Brand New Series. I LOVE Debbie Macomber and what a fantastic way to introduce us to her new series. Before anyone starts to complain you are paying 99 cents for a VERY SHORT STORY. But what a great short story it was. It does not take long to read but you will get pulled in right away. There is also the first chapter from her new book as well. This was a great story and I simply cannot wait for August 14th to read all about the Inn at Rose Harbor!!!!! Thank You Debbie.....this was great!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars When first they met ( short story) August 15, 2012

I was really disappointed with it . Not worth spending the money and now that I am reading the book I can see that the short story was a waste because the book tells you why she buys the Inn .

...then I CAN'T wait to read it. Trying to put the rights words for this review has been difficult because there are just too many that come to mind. Jo Marie has a great family, good stable job and continues to look for Mr. Right believing he will come along some day. She just never imagined they would meet when they sit next to each other at a Seahawks game. That instant connection, the things they have in common, the romance that beats the distance all comes together. While it is only a short period of time in their lives together, Jo Marie and Paul are a couple you can easily see when you are reading this story. It gives an explanation for the book that comes out in the summer and I can only hope that we will get more details about their relationship as the next chapters of her life happen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Intro to Debbie's Newest Series August 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If Debbie Macomber needed a way to build enthusiasm for her newest series, this short story certainly does the trick. You'll meet Jo Marie (the heroine of the new series) who is 38, never married, and extremely picky. When she meets Paul Rose at a Seattle Seahawks game, it is love at first sight. Romance ensues and Jo Marie dreams of life happily ever after. We are also given the first chapter of the new book (or at least part of it) and see how Jo Marie's dream has fallen apart in the worst possible way. She is now in the process of picking up the pieces of her life in the fictional town of Cedar Cove, a place all of us Debbie Macomber fans have come to love and idealize as the perfect city. As for me, I am eagerly anticipating August 14 to download the new book. Warning: this item is only 28 pages. Yes, it's very brief as other reviewers have complained, but what did you really expect for a dollar? To my way of thinking, it was worth every penny.
