5.0 out of 5 stars It's fun to read.
This is a really good book because it's scary and a little surprising. This book is about two cousins, Marnie and Andy, and what happens when they get a hound's tooth from Jonathan Chiller's gift shop.

2.0 out of 5 stars ... I Howl Back
My eight-year-old daughter and I have been reading Goosebumps lately, but this one became so quickly intense that we had to stop after reading about a fourth of the book. The partial scoop:

1. Main characters are threatened by possibly real zombies (the characters were not sure if they were real or not, not I); tension abounds in this scene.

This review is from: When the Ghost Dog Howls (Goosebumps HorrorLand #13) (Mass Market Paperback)

2. Character is knocked unconscious and wakes up to find himself surrounded by unknown people who claim to be his immediate family. A bit confusing here, and creepy for security-craving kids.

3. Male main character is granted a wish to be thousands of miles away from his cousin (something like that); his wish is granted, and he finds himself deep in space. The fear here is chillingly palpable. (This is where we stopped.)

Basically- Jumps around to too many overwhelming horror facets; I was so relieved when my daughter voiced her negative opinion on it that I just said "Yeah, I agree..." and tossed it on the floor. It seemed like Stine just could not pick one theme/plot for this book; we got the horror gamut here with no structure. And let me tell you- I am a total devotee to both the written word and motion pictures that deal with horror, and just tonight in a play session with my daughter, she introduced a vampire chihuahua character complete with blood on her muzzle (Magic Marker). We are no strangers to the realm of horror, but this book was just too much. Stick with the 90's Goosebumps.

This is a really good book because it's scary and a little surprising. This book is about two cousins, Marnie and Andy, and what happens when they get a hound's tooth from Jonathan Chiller's gift shop.
It's scary because the Ghost Dog is scary in the story. It was a little surprising when Marnie stole the tooth from Andy and it was also a little surprising at the end when Marnie found the tooth.
I liked this book a lot.
