Maybe you are like me...,
By ~arielle (Chapel Hill, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: When God Waits: Making Sense of Divine Delays (Paperback)
Maybe you are like me... God has spoken to you about His calling for your life... about His vision for your future... about the places you are going to go and the things you are going to do... But all of that was spoken a long time ago and like me, you are still waiting to see it come to pass.
So, the questions swirl around you: why is it taking so long? What am I supposed to be doing in the mean time? Why is God waiting??? From the moment I picked up the book, "When God Waits: Making Sense of Divine Delays," I couldn't put it down. Seriously, I read the entire thing in one evening and became completely undone as I finally found some answers to my frustrations and some peace for my soul. This book speaks to that place of frustration with an easy to read and captivating narrative that weaves in the authors' personal experiences with that of key figures from the bible who also had to wait for their destinies to be fulfilled. If you are trying to make sense of the purposes of God and the role He is looking for you to play while you are waiting, I would highly recommend this book and encourage you to get two copies... because once you read it, some friend or family member will come to mind that you know needs to read it also!

Answering the hard Questions,
By
This review is from: When God Waits: Making Sense of Divine Delays (Paperback)
Jerome Daley is a Christian writer of the twenty-first century. He is willing to ask the hard questions, and willing to take us all along on a journey to find the answers. In When God Waits, we join in the struggle with Jerome to draw closer to God and hear his heartbeat, as he works out his plan for each one of us. Waiting is something we do not do well in the twenty-first century. Jerome helps us be patient and understanding when it comes to the deep isuues of God.

A great resource for all who see their faith as a journey,

This review is from: When God Waits: Making Sense of Divine Delays (Paperback)
Jerome Daley really does help you make sense of divine delays. Even more than that he gives you a road map to navigate your soul through those inevitable seasons of waiting. When God Waits really leads you to discover the transforming power of what it means to wait on God where you exchange your weakness for His strength. Jerome does so not with lofty theological ideas, but candid and often humorous lessons he learns as he journeys with God. A very good read. Hard to put down once you begin.

I don't have more to add than what has already been written. This is one of those books that if you feel your heart drawn toward something about it, then just go for it.

A Roadmap to Waiting Well,
By Britt (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: When God Waits: Making Sense of Divine Delays (Paperback)
The author does a fine job helping the reader realize that periods of waiting can actually be a blessing to our lives. Jerome Daily puts waiting into a clear Biblical context and he frames the time of waiting as having the potential to become the defining event of our lives. The reader is guided away from focusing on the waiting and toward focusing on the meaning. The book is useful whether the period of waiting is a self-imposed sabbatical or when the waiting is the result of outside forces impacting our plans. Very useful, very helpful - a real blessing to me.
