5.0 out of 5 stars Kenny Chesney scores again!
I am in love with Kenny Chesney. I not only think he is very attractive but I just love his music. This cd is the type that will honestly make you want to be at the beach. Many of the songs are heartfelt, yet others are just plain fun. I have never been a big fan of Uncle Kracker but in " When the Sun Goes Down," he sings wonderfully with Kenny. That song...

2.0 out of 5 stars New Songs?????
I found this CD to be basically the same as No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems. The songs sound the same, and feel the same. At first I thought I had accidently put in No shirt, No Shoes, but it was just that the two CDs are that much alike. I like kenny chesney and his philosophy and reasoning behind what the songs mean, but he needs to mix it up a little (or a lot)...

That song is a perfect duet between the two different singers. The song "There Goes My Life," is enough for any sappy girl to get teary eyed. It puts some reality behind teen pregnancy, even though I know there are situations that turn out much worse than his did. The song "I go back," is just fun to listen to and sing along with. I am still fairly young, 19, and I still think back to my highschool days when I hear that song. Now, for my mother, she thinks back to her highschool days and it means a lot more than me thinking back only a short year. Kenny Chesney has a wonderful voice and his music is just fun and inspiring. If you like country and you enjoy Kenny Chesney's other music this cd will not fail you.

5.0 out of 5 stars When The Sun Goes Down, September 11, 2004
This review is from: When the Sun Goes Down (Audio CD)
I have loved Kenny Chesney ever since I was first introduced to his song "Young". I picked up 'When The Sun Goes Down' when it came out in February and it hasn't left my CD Player since then. There is an amazing array of songs on this album. They never become old or tiresome...they get better each time I listen to them. I saw Kenny in concert this past July and ever since then, these songs have meant that much more to me. He is an AMAZING live performer and I think we will be seeing even more of Mr. Chesney in years to come.

Coming from an artist of his caliber it was a major disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Album once again, May 6, 2004
This review is from: When the Sun Goes Down (Audio CD)
I really like this album. I enjoy the big songs that have been released, but my favorite quickly became "Anything But Mine" followed closely by "Some People Change".
Some of the songs start to sound the same, but it does not take away from the album at all.

If you enjoy Kenny Chesney's sound and songs, then consider this album a must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kenny Fan, February 4, 2004

I have to say that I have been awaiting the release for quite some time, as many people have. I rushed to the store yesterday to buy it, and I was amazed when I heard it. I can see how people seem to think its similar to some of his other work, but it is also quite different. His music has progressed a great deal over the years. I do not know how he sings There Goes My Life without crying every time. Its such a beautiful song. My other fav on the CD is the live version of Please Come to Boston. I heard the older version, but I think the version Kenny released on this CD is far better and smoother. He just keeps getting better as time goes by !

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this CD!, June 3, 2004
This review is from: When the Sun Goes Down (Audio CD)
Dang you Kenny Chesney.. I have always been one to respond "anything but country and rap" when asked to list the types of music enjoy.

While there have been exceptions over the years, it's been a steadfast rule to exclude country music from my vast music collection. Enter Kenny Chesney. A friend of mine (mutual country-avoider) and I were at a music store and he recommended that I break my rule and pick up one of KC's CD's. Reluctant but feeling daring, I picked up this CD.

It hasn't left my cd player since.

I'm not sure if it's the surprising twist in "There Goes My Life" or the good-times reminiscing of halcyon days in "I Go Back" and "Keg in the Closet" that reeled me in. Maybe it's the rocky-tonk and pure, unadulterated fun in "Live Those Songs" recorded live that captured the huge amounts of charisma and fun in KC's music.

Whatever it was, I was hooked, and I bought the rest of his collection a few days later. I've seen arguments that KC's music is not "pure" country, whatever that means. I don't know what 'pure' country is but I know good music and a solid entertainer when I hear it and see it, and KC is a great country singer and this album is the perfect, highly entertaining showcase of his talent.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very good, February 14, 2004

Almost every song can be described as either: 1) Jimmy Buffet wanna-be, or 2) Kenny singing about losing his virginity in high school.

Tired and boring.

2.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what's wrong with country music today, March 4, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: When the Sun Goes Down (Audio CD)
You have a talented guy like this, he comes out with a new cd that's basically a rehash of his last cd and it sells like hot cakes. What has happened to the country music industry? Everything sounds the same as if it was made from a cookie cutter and there's not a real stand out in the bunch. I bought this cd for the stellar track "There Goes My Life" but goes down hill from there. The duet with Uncle Kracker is catchy, but at best, it sounds more like a knock off of the Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett duet of "It's Five O'clock Somewhere". Hopefully Kenny will have a better album next time. I really do like his music and I own all of his releases, but I think he should have spent more time finding material for this outing. Instead of spending your hard earned money on this disc go get the new release by Clint Black or Gary Allen instead, much better material and you'll have a disc that will get repeat listenings.

5.0 out of 5 stars great cd, February 3, 2004

Got this cd the day it came out. Unfortunately it's not the limited edition one with the bonus tracks, but it doesn't really matter; the cd is amazing regardless. Everyone has already heard "There Goes My Life," so I won't even bother rating it, it's awesome. Track two "I Go Back" is my favorite song on the CD. Similar to several of his older songs, it reminds you of your high school glory days. Again, Chesney hits the theme out of the ballpark and delivers with the song. Next is the title track, which I at first wasn't too crazy about. It's a ridiculously addictive song however, and even though it's not my favorite, I can't seem to get it out of my head; which generally means in about 2 days it'll be one of my favorite songs ever. "The Woman With You" is another catchy beat. It's interesting: "Woman" and his next song "Some People Change" are both really quite deep songs with some pretty meaningful lyrics. However, they are both reasonably fast paced songs, which is unuasual for Chesney; he usually slows it down for serious stuff. However, I have to say I like it, both songs are great. "Anything but Mine" is another great song. Look, I'm running out of space and things to say. The bottom line is, every song is flat out awesome. They're all great great songs, not one which I could even claim to be just "decent." I was really concerned that after a great CD like "No Shoes," it would be hard for Chesney to follow up with expectations being so high. But like very few people can do, Chesney outdoes himself and exceeds all expectations. Buy this CD, you will not regret it. This and No Shoes are even in my eyes; they're both amazing. Buy it. Peace.
