Not what I expected,

This book was one of the few disappointments of books I have ordered in the mail. I had to read it twice just to make sure I understood it, and my mom (another teacher) didn't like it at all. I think it might have a European style to it, that perhaps makes more sense. It's not a bad book, but it wasn't what I thought either. It basically tells the story of a little child who sees all sorts of problems on the playground and decides to solve them, but the pictures are somewhat bizarre. Basically it just wasn't anything like I expected and perhaps that was why I was so disappointed:(

I am an educator and was looking forward to using this book to inspire students for our "Hopes and Dreams" writing. While it certainly isn't a bad book, I would not feel comfortable sharing this book with students in the classroom. Some of the pictures were bizarre and somewhat violent. I understand it's supposed to be exaggerated, but in one picture it appears that a group of boys have tied a friend to a tree and set branches on fire underneath him. Definitely would have raised some eyebrows and I wasn't willing to take the risk. I had to return it.
