When Heaven Opens is an incredible book about one man's encounter with God that is truly prophetic to the entire Body of Christ. I've read it twice already and given many copies away. You will find yourself in this book and your cry for the Living God will grow deeper.

This book is for the person who is tired of living life at status-quo! This is for the person who has decided that they are going to allow God to shake off the the chains of pasivity and complacency and selfishness and really get to living! Their hearts cry is "More God". As you read the story of Lucas Sherraden, you will long for more of God too! His story is for anyone who hungers for more...anyone who desires fire!

An amazing testimony of an indescribable Heavenly encounter. This book will make you hungry for MORE of God! Read it. You won't regret it.

I bought this book because I was looking for something by Graham Cooke. I was a little disappointed when I discovered that Cooke only wrote the elongated preface - an interesting look at how suddently lives in the Bible were changed by an encounter with God. David, Hosea, Moses, Mary and Joseph, and Paul all had their lives drastically altered - suddenly. I had such an encounter - those not as dramatic and supernatural as Lucas had. However it gave me a lens to look through as I read of Lucas's sudden moment.

A big factor is his receiving this encounter was his willingness to step out and participate in a mission trip to Brazil. Ironically my pastor is writing a book right now about the very same outreach. His life was also altered by the miracles he saw and participated in with Randy Clark's group. The encounter itself is the basis for the book but it take up only a small amount of the text. The rest deals with how one continues with life on Earth after such a radical moment in their lives. I suggest you read this book, especially if you think that miracles are not for modern times. You might use this as a springboard to more advanced research mode, allowing you to find out what God is doing around the globe today.

While I respect the authors personal experience.. it remains just that.. personal. IMO he did nothing to convey what this does for me? How could anyone else ever experience such a event?

He alludes to Forgiveness & Relationships and hten drops the subject completely.. sorry but I got zippo out of this book.

i enjoyed this book very much. graham cook is a wonderful prophetic teacher and his foreward makes the book amazing even before the experience, (radical life changing encounter with Holy Spirit) is revealed. i highly recommend this book for those who are already experiencing the supernatural presence of God as well as those who haven't yet.
bill johnson's books are also a wonderful blessing along this same theme.
the contents of the book won't be your answer, but it will be your blessing to see the 'more' that is possible in revelation and experience with the Almighty God.
if you read it, enjoy it and pray for your own relationship to grow and go deeper and higher in God and then give this book away to who ever the Lord points to. :) that's what i hope you'll do. share the blessing.

Great book. I have met several people who have had these encounters in Brazil. Its exciting to see someone actually wrote about it.
