5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommend This Book
We lost our beloved 24 year-old son recently. Ms. Kolf's words have provided comfort and understanding where none seems possible. I would highly recommend this book to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth buying
I bought this book after my mother passed away hoping it would help the hurt. It really didn't give me what I needed. I feel it was not worth buying.

When my Mother passed away, a friend gave me this book to read. It was such a help to me, I gave it to my brother to read also. Since then, whenever we know someone who losses a loved one, we send them this book. Everyone has always come back and said what a help it was to them. If someone you know needs comfort, send them this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book, April 15, 2007
I've never written a review on a book before, but feel so strongly about this book that I'm taking the time to do so. My father died suddenly last fall and I purchased this book for myself, my mother, sisters and other family members. We all found great comfort in Ms. Kolf's words. It is a book you can pick up and read any chapter at any time. It is an easy read. I found myself reading and re-reading it night after night to get through those most difficult moments. Now, I give this book to others when they suffer a loss, and everyone I've given this to tells me how helpful this book is to them, too, in dealing with their heartache.

5.0 out of 5 stars When will I stop hurting, March 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After the lost of my husband, I received books on grief. I purchased this book a a book store. After reading this and book I order 3 more from amazon to give to my mother-in-law and my church. I have an extra one for anyone who might need one in the future. This book hits things right on the head. I thought I was losing my mind. After reading this book I found the things I was feeling was o.k. I have read several books on this subject, but "When will I stop hurting" is the best book I have found.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth reading!!!, September 5, 2009
This book was an easy read, especially for someone in the process of grieving & mourning (when doing anything sometimes feels difficult). It made me feel as though I wasn't going crazy and that the feelings I was having were normal. It made me realize that that the process of grief is never the same for everyone and it's ok to slide in and out of the stages-it isn't as easy as "you go through the stages, you get over it, etc." I definitely recommend it for anyone who has lost someone they loved (which is all of us on some level).

When Will I Stop Hurting?: Dealing with a Recent Death

This is an excellent book, very informative and insightful. I actually read it 3 times in a row. As a man who is still dealing with the death of his son - I found myself understanding my own grief better. I realized that I am not done with many aspects of the grief process.

As a Health Care worker, working at a mental hospital for Dual Diagnosis patients (those suffering from both a mental or emotional illness as well as chemical dependency) -I will be able to help my patients better after reading this book.

I highly recommend "When Will I Stop Hurting?: Dealing with a Recent Death" to people whether or not they have personally experienced a loss. It will help them to better understand others who are currently dealing with grief.

Thanks to Mrs. Kolf for her work!

4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Helpful, January 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I lost my father this past December and has always been the type of person who would read up on things going on in my life. I felt like a needed something to explain what I was feeling since I was unable to explain it myself. The author of this book was able to break down how I was feeling and put it into terms that I was able to connect with. I fully recommend this book, it really is helping me through this rough time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge Help, December 13, 2007
Although a short read,I was amazed how this book helps one understand the stages of grief. Being a skeptical person I was surprised how the book put deep thoughts into words. I even felt better after reading the first 10 pages! Nothing can ever replace a loved one. But, it is better to understand one's own feelings to be able to enjoy life more.

Cheapest and best advice I have ever received.
