This review is from: When a Husband Is Infertile: Options for the Christian Couple (Paperback)
This book might be fine for a couple if they have sought God's will and found that donor insemination is not for them. There is no Biblical basis for the author's condemnation of DI, though, and he makes references to eunuchs not being allowed to serve in churches, etc. I found it to be very opinionated (from the author's personal experience) and condemning, which is unfair to couples who pray through their decision to use or not use DI and find that that is where God is leading them. I believe it also makes a big difference that the author was not completely sterile, as some men are, so his options were not as limited.

I was insulted by this book and did not even share it with my husband, as I did not want him to be hurt by its harsh words. We are faithful Christians, and I do not want him to believe that he would be ineligible to become a deacon or anything based on the opinions of the author.

We serve a loving and just God who forgives our sins and iniquities through the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, and He does not limit us due to our disabilities (and, yes, infertility is a disability, not a punishment for past sins or the withholding of blessings). He reached out to the disabled and made them whole by His amazing grace. The author seems to disagree that the blood of Christ is enough to cover our iniquities and allow us to serve Him faithfully.

He even went so far as to suggest that if a man knows he is infertile, he should not marry because he then causes his wife to be barren. As much as we desire children (and we know that God has a plan for how they will come to us), I would never even have considered the thought of not having married my husband even if we knew up front that he could not biologically father children. Our marriage is the most incredible blessing that the Lord has given me, besides my salvation.
