Editorial Reviews

Albert Pedulla, CIVA, January 5, 2002

“A small group of artists—including Bob Dylan and Emmylou Harris—create music that seems to matter. Count Dorman among their number."

Product Description

What’s the sound of a soul being changed? Drawing on influences from Dylan & Lanois to Mozart, from New York to the red clay of Damascus, these songs stick in your head but never play the same way twice. Alt rock with brains, soul, melody, and funk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing songwriting, 14 fantasitc tracks- you MUST buy this!, January 31, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: When I Come to You (Audio CD)
Todd Dorman's lyrics on this album are sensational - a mixture of Dylan, EmmyLou Harris and so many other indie greats. Yet it is a prevailing soulful quality - amazing violin sound and other backups - that really makes the album. The talent is incredible...Dorman includes two Julliard trained musicians, which not many band can claim. I bought this on a recommendation of a friend who saw them play in NY, and I have to say this is one of the great albums I have ever owned. I recommend it unequivocally to all.

This review is from: When I Come to You (Audio CD)
This album quite literally left me breathless and astounded. The variety of the tracks, the sweep of its scope, the soulful, sensual sound, literally swept me off my feet. The fusion of so many different styles truly created something unique and completely original. There is no doubt in my mind that this band is going to make waves, so check it out, and you won't be sorry you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars new Dorman fan, February 15, 2002

I love the diversity of the music -- each song is something new, and you can tell the musicians are each talented in their own right. Everytime I listen to it, I discover something new in meaning...the words make me think and feel and enter into its story. You couldn't ask for a better combination in a CD!
