I came across this book while browsing a bricks and mortar book store. I sat down and read it right there. The author's words are so simple yet profound. It made me think..."If I really loved myself, what would I do? And why am I not doing it now?" The author's words have resonated through my entire life, and the story of her life and death really touched me. I can't recommend this book enough.

This book is so thoughful and inspirational and brings with it a very personal touch. It is great to keep a copy next to your bed to remind you of the importance of taking the time to love yourself. Wonderful gift idea! I'm not one to collect self-help/inspiration books, but I can not stress enough, that this book is a must have!

I was in Paris, in an English bookshop, looking for psychology books, and I came acorss this book, it caught my eye immediately. It's another print by a publisher from London. It's very lovely, the look. I read it and alomost immediately, I was touched and tears came to my eyes. I was reminded that I need to love myself enough, because I am the only person who truly understand all of my needs and my pains, and I am responsible for myself. I thought it was truly a gift from Kim McMillen to the world, she was so kind in sharing her wisdom and life. Thank you, Kim. I will, too, try to love myself.

All I can say is just buy it!!! A deeply yet simply written book that touches the very soul of who we are...
Meister Ekhert once wrote "The soul grows by subtraction, not by addition". In just a few lines the author has captured what it means to truly be happy and that is to realize freedom within.

I am one of the lucky ones to own a hand-made version, but the power and gift remain tucked between the covers. I keep this book handy on the window ledge and often revisit its lovely and honest positive reflections, reminders and validations. A wonderful gift to yourself first and then to others. Thank you Kim and Alison.

I originally bought this book as a gift for my sister, but read it myself before I gave it to her. It's wonderful and enlightening. It just makes you realize that when you love yourself more, life is more enjoyable.

When I first received this book, I just openned to a page and ouch, it hit my heart what Ms McMillen wrote. Then I picked a different page to read and again felt that ouch in my heart. What she wrote was so appropriate to how I was feeling for myself, as if she was with me the entire day and wrote words that would help myself be stronger. It's a wonderful book, I ended up buying more to give as gifts for those I love.

I bought this book for my sister, my best friend in Mississippi, and my thirteen-old daughter. I think it is a wonderful reminder that we have to start with ourselves first in order to give fully to others. I am so glad Allison, the author's daughter, brought her mother's wise words to life. Each page contains a message all women should hear and believe in.

I love this little book. The thoughts are so true, even to the statement the author makes that everything she says may not be for you. I have read my copy many times and now I am coming back to get copies for others. These are not new ideas, really, but they are old ideas restated in a sincere and helpful way.

I have read many books on self esteem (most notable and life-changing among them being everything written by Dr. Nathaniel Branden, especially The Six Pillars of Self Esteem, as an aside). Given the simplicity of this book (82 completions of the title of the book--"If I loved myself enough..."), I wasn't expecting too much, but this book far exceeded my expectations. I decided to copy the most profound sentences--those that personally touched me--in my journal, and I ended up copying over half of the book! Highly recommended.
