Once I started reading this book I just couldn't put down. Martineau's memoir is filled with his experiences as a pastor in West Virginia. In order to provide enough to support his family he gets a second job as a coal miner in the Olga Coal Company, the same mine the movie October Sky was based on. His book was very exciting and was an example to me how to trust God through all the hardships and trials of life. Not only did I learn about coal mining but I had an excellent glimpse into one of the world's most dangerous occupations. From front to back you'll go through all the laughs, hardships, trials and miracles he experienced in Coalwood, West Virginia. No matter if you've been a coal miner or pastor or neither you'll enjoy this book and leave inspired and encouraged as I did.

This book was extremely interesting and very well written. I couldn't hardly put it down once I started reading. The experiences this Pastor went through in this small coal mining community were beyond belief. I couldn't emagine having to face some of the things he had to live through. I would highly suggest this book for everyone to read. I promise you will be captivated and entertained though out the whole story. I definitely give this book a thumbs UP! Ken.
