I've read the book and seen the author's workshops. This is a man who has been there, and done that. When Kids Know Why, They Try only reveals part of the story. In his workshops, Dr. Doyle explains the next step beyond helping young people discover their life purpose, find meaning and direction. He shows how to hook a life calling to a trend and make money in zones of opportunity. For parents and teachers looking for ways to motivate their students to do their best, I highly recommend they pick up a copy of this book along with Foster Cline's Parenting with Love and Logic. When you combine the two readings, you are well on the way to developing our future leaders.

Having worked with Dr. Doyle and seen his interection with kids first hand, I can genuinly state that his approach is successful and powerful. His ability to connect and work with children in an effective manner is evident to me in my experience with him as a supervisor.

I have 10 and 13 year old boys, and although they are good boys, they are both very strong minded as well. We really wanted to read on on how to keep them "on the right track" for the next few years, and this book gave us great, straightforward ideas on how to do that.

Motivating teens is a huge challenge. And teaching them about leadership is even bigger. As a parent, foster parent and grand parent, there have been times that I've seriously questioned what in the heck is being taught in schools. And what planet did these critters come from. Then, Dan Doyle comes along and writes from his vast experience and unravels some of the mystery. There is hope. He's a no nonsense type of guy with a big heart and clear vision on how to tap into this generation that is glued to its techo gadgets. Strongly recommended.
