Editorial Reviews

Limited edition vinyl LP reissue from 2004. 1000 copies. Cover art by serial killer John Wayne Gacy should give clear warning about what to expect with the sonic explosion just below the surface. Acid Bath's "When the Kite String Pops" has gained cult status among fans of death metal. More melodic and inspired by punk than more thrash-based death metal bands, this album's digital remastery better represents the talent and musicianship of Acid Bath. There are only 1,000 pressings of this limited edition reissue of the 1994 album. The limited edition two-vinyl LP set is presented in a special gatefold cover

I don't understand why anyone on here would hate on this album just because it has a picture of Gacey. This is a metal band from the 90's who have long disbanded and were pioneers really. This album is great with so much raw aggression and emotion thrown into it that I don't know how any fan of metal could hate this. The singer, Dax Riggs, still does solo music that sounds nothing like this and the guitarist now plays for Goatwhore. No one who buys this album and is a fan of sludge metal will hate this. There's really nothing to compare it to but I guess if you were to take Saint Vitus, Mastodon, and Pantera and throw them in a blender it would somewhat sound like this.

Love this album growing up and still to this day. Wish Dax and Sammy would do Acid Bath again but one can dream you know?

One of my absolute favorite albums of all time but, the vinyl release is trash. The audio quality is horrendous when compared to the cd version. I'm not sure what they did when putting this on vinyl but it wasn't good.

The colored vinyl in itself is pretty awesome and to add such an amazing band to your vinyl collection is always great. The actual audio quality that went into this release was just poor. Unless you're a collector and already have the cd/audio files/whatever, I'd probably just stick with the CD because the actual content is DEFINITELY worth listening to.
