Book Description

January 1, 1993

When Life Is Changed Forever empathetically comforts the agony of empty arms and the raging of the soul in the aftermath of a loved one’s death as few books ever have. Within these helpful pages the author skillfully offers the sure hope that life can be lived fully again…while facing the truth that it can never be the same.

Here is an honest journey into the depths of God’s love for all those who have experienced the complicated and often conflicting emotions brought about by the death of someone near.

There are no simple platitudes, quick solutions or moralistic exhortations here. Just biblical truth gently taught through authentic life experience that provides the deep hope of a God who is big enough to handle the worst of our pain.
—Howard G. Hendricks, Distinguished Professor, Dallas Theological Seminary

Dr. Taylor’s reference to “changed forever” describes the heartache of a loss that eventually lessens but never leaves. If you have been touched by the death of someone dear, you’ll find compassion and hope within these pages. You can transcend your personal grief by experiencing God’s purpose and promise for your life.
—June Hunt, Hope for the Heart

5.0 out of 5 stars Moving, gripping, and Biblically-based, January 25, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: When Life Is Changed Forever (Paperback)
I really appreciate Rick's transparency and the way he deals with this difficult topic. In walking us through how he and Judy have processed their grief, he provides a roadmap for wrestling through the many issues at hand in a God-honoring way (Eph. 4:26). I have also found the tapes of the interviews Rick and Judy did with Dennis Rainey on FamilyLife Today to be extremely helpful. I highly recommend this book for anyone struggling and asking "Why?" following the death of a loved one.

5.0 out of 5 stars In Loving Memory of My Son Micah, June 4, 2008
This review is from: When Life Is Changed Forever (Paperback)
When my Son passed I read a few books on grieving. I had to try to find some relief. This book I feel was the most helpful. It really helped me see that I needed to get stronger and not try to feel better about my Son being gone. How could I ever feel "better" about that. I needed to adjust my life. It's a rough journey but I am glad I found this book. I make sure I give out this book to others that I have come across that have to travel the path I'm on. And if you are here concidering this book from my heart to yours, I'm truely sorry for your loss. I do recommend you try this book. I hope it helps you like it has me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for dealing with the death of a child, February 22, 2008
By
This review is from: When Life Is Changed Forever (Paperback)
This book was given to my husband and me after we lost our 19-year-old son in a car accident. It was especially helpful for my husband, but we both benefitted from reading it as we were grieving. We have since had friends lose children and have purchased several more copies of the book to give to them as they deal with the loss.
