Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

This book is for anyone who isn't happy with the status quo and wants to take life to the next level. Change can be exhilarating and terrifying--often both at the same time. Sometimes we choose it; sometimes it chooses us. Noted intuitive counselor Carol Adrienne has helped thousands pursue their heart's desire in a turbulent world. If you face challenges in family, career, or other areas, or feel stuck or fearful, Carol Adrienne can help you find your mission and keep your focus as you forge into the unknown.

Each chapter discusses a key element of making changes, from trusting that change has a purpose to finding a spirit of adventure; from watching for clues to the next steps to accepting yourself while building strengths. In her warm, accessible style, Carol Adrienne clarifies the process of metamorphosis in compelling sections such as: Handling Confusion, Stop Struggling, Lean into Resistance, and Commit to Life, Not Just Security. She shares skills for handling setbacks and dead ends, and inspires us to identify and have faith in our abilities. As in her previous books, her wisdom is enriched by dozens of illuminating anecdotes from her own and others' experiences.

Change can be challenging, but this book reveals the treasures it holds for those who understand how to undertake the journey. Carol Adrienne's principles soothe fears, inspire courage, and motivate us to take action. When Life Changes or You Wish It Would is a hand extended in love, hope, and help.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a terrific book!, July 22, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: When Life Changes or You Wish It Would: How to Survive and Thrive in Uncertain Times (Hardcover)
I started to flip through the first few pages, and absolutely couldn't put it down. I was late for an appointment, but I couldn't stop reading. Carol hooked me with her compelling personal examples, her insightful wisdom, her very helpful ideas, and her uplifting, hopeful take on life. I read her last book (The Purpose of Your Life) twice. It was life changing for me. I think this book is even better!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book from Carol, June 21, 2002

This review is from: When Life Changes or You Wish It Would: How to Survive and Thrive in Uncertain Times (Hardcover)
I have read "The Purpose of your Life" by Carol Adrienne and loved it. Now, I am about to finish up "When Life Changes..." and I can't say enough about it! Carol's style of incorporating interviews with real people (not celebrities and other people I find it hard to relate with) is fantastic. The idea of the book is to give suggestions and advice on successfully maneuvering the sometimes rough waters of change. It does this beautifully. Each night, I'd read a chapter and mysteriously, that chapter would reflect on something that happened that very day in my life! Synchronicity and deep intuition are certainly Carol's right-hand companions. I found her suggestions VERY helpful and practical in a cheerfully spiritual way. Very uplifting, the book offers ways to attract the situations; people and things you want in your life that help you realize your purpose for being. Great book!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a gem!!!, December 18, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: When Life Changes or You Wish It Would: How to Survive and Thrive in Uncertain Times (Hardcover)
I have been absolutely miserable with my life, living in dread of each new day, for the most part unhappy, trying to keep everything safe and immune from change. And now, after reading this book, I really want to make some changes in my life. And trust me, I hate change. Now I want to change everything from furniture to really starting to pursue my art. This is a beautiful book - every time I thought I had a new objection - a way to just keep playing it safe - I picked up the book and there was a chapter that dealt with it. The book isn't just about convincing you that change can be good but gives practical examples and methods for dealing with fear, trusting yourself, synchronicities and the power of prayer. Great read.
