This video is from the 1970's series In Search Of with Leonard Nimoy. Vol. 1 contains the episodes dealing with: Sherlock Holmes, Jack the Ripper, and Tower of London Murders. Although somewhat dated I still find the series interesting and entertaining.

Recall the series as a child very well. It fulfilled that corner of curiosities that we had and gave back something that we still have to this day. If it was about Egypt, Stonehenge or Mystery Hill (in the States) et etc. In Search Of.. did for us what the History channel and A+E currently does now. Leonard Nimoy did a splendid job being a host and lending a certain amount of dead-set, seriousness to the subject matter.
My search will continue for the series reissue on DVD!!! Don't keep a good show like this confined to VHS-ism.

There were only two VHS videos ever released of In Search Of. This particular one is Volume 1 and is a compilation of 3 episodes Sherlock Holmes, Jack the Ripper, and Tower of London Murders. As many of you know, A&E and History Channel removed the original openings and made new, updated ones. This VHS has the original show openings. The end credits are all edited together into one at the end of the tape. I forgot which shows were on Volume 2, but Volume 2 is very hard to find.

this is a great video but the only thing you may want to be warned about is that it is from the 70's so it isnt updated.....otherwise it is an awesome video you can also watch In search of on the History Channel.

While I've not reviewed the video, as I will not purchase it with the lack of information about this video.

Is it ONE episode of the dozens to hundreds of "In Search Of" Series episodes?

Is it a compilation of a Season of "In Search Of" episodes?

Just what we're in search of is the first and biggest mystery here!!

I would love to know how many episodes are included in this VHS of "In Search Of" -it is a total mystery. UntilI know that I am getting my money's worth, I won't be buying it, and cannot really rate it. Could the product information be more specific? There are literally hundreds of episodes, and I do not want to spend $40.00 for just a handful...
