From the Back Cover

How the Christian community--driven by grace, unified in love, and activated by prayer--can bring revival and change the world.

We all want to be part of something bigger than ourselves. We all want to live in communities that are healthy and safe. In When the Many Are One (formerly The House of the Lord), Francis Frangipane demonstrates how Christians of every color, culture, and denomination can work together to transform our communities.

Our best efforts will not stop the flood of problems in our cities if we remain isolated from each other. In a season when external forces are causing disunity and division, Francis Frangipane calls us back to oneness with Christ, and through Him oneness with other Christians. With the character and power of Christ in our midst, the Church can again bring transformation to our communities, our nation, and our world.

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful By Richard R. Blake TOP 1000 REVIEWERVINE VOICE on July 6, 2009
Format: Paperback
The church is on the threshold of a major awakening. God wants to build righteousness and faithfulness in the land. The nations will come to Him. In his book "When Many are One" Francis Frangipane advocates that if as a church we are to see this happen, we must cleanse the Lord's house. This means we must be:
* Ready to pay the cost and sacrifice of our greatest loves
* Embrace His highest purpose
* Be united spiritually with other assemblies in our communities
* Inspire holiness within the church
* Shatter demonic strongholds
* Individually seek to be like Jesus
* Commit our hearts to seeking God.

Frangipane challenges the corporate citywide church as he describes principles for building the Lord's house. He talks about vision and obedience as prerequisites to the task. He maintains that forgiveness, reconciliation, and release must follow if we are to reach our cities or be blessed as a nation. Frangipane provides instructions and cautions regarding apostolic anointing and human pressure concerning citywide prayer. He addresses the need for wisdom and the dynamic of revival in God's strategy.

Each chapter ends with a heartfelt prayer of confession, supplication, intercession, or worship. These prayers lead to soul searching examination, a glimpse of the glory of God, stirring compassion for others, and a burning desire to see a revival restoration of the church.

The task is monumental, power for the task unlimited. God's strategy for the task is one person, one church, one city one at a time. "When Many are One" calls on the church to lay aside their differences to come together as "the house of God" and together to make a major impact on the world.

Francis Frangipane is a prolific writer and teacher - An understanding mind and heart.
This book has permanently changed my perspectives. And the results are inevitable - I'm stronger in love, less presumptuous, and the kids I serve are opening up to me. If what has been taught me through this book is all I do for the rest of my life, I would be honoured and happy.

Excellent book, it mirrored my views on church unity in the way I believe God intended from the very beginning. I would hope that all Christians read this book and put into action what Jesus told Peter and us to do.

Denominations are essential but separate from each other are not doing the full work Christ gave to us, and in doing so are losing the people of this world God loves as we should.

Another 5 star for Francis! This book brings expansion and clarity on the subject of unity and what we, as Christians, are to be building. May the love of Christ be not only talked about, but seen and felt among us and through us.
