Book Description

Contemporary romance from award-winning, best-selling author Karen Rose Smith

Alex Woodsides is a single dad who wants the best for his daughter. His daughter Kristy believes her father needs a wife and she needs a mom! When Kristy lets her math grade drop, she suggests Amanda Carson--her best friend's mom who is a third grade teacher--tutor her over the summer. She believes Mrs. Carson is the perfect mom and would make a wonderful wife for her dad.
Neither Alex nor Amanda suspect they're being pushed together by two nine-year-old matchmakers until it's too late. Sparks fly when they meet and keep flying as they become involved in each others lives. But Amanda has been burnt in the past by a controlling husband, and Alex gained sole custody of his daughter because her mother walked away. Will Amanda and Alex fall for each other and the parent trap their daughters have set?

Editorial Reviews

Review

"The sincerity and compassion in a Karen Rose Smith book are always emotionally realistic." Amelia Richards, cataromance.com

From the Author

I've always found children fascinating, humorous and even wise. A former teacher, I particularly enjoyed my second graders' antics. WHEN MOM MEETS DAD found roots in some of my experiences. Although this book is a romance about Amanda and Alex's love story, it's also about blended families, a sense of belonging, and the value of trust and commitment in a relationship as well as love. I hope you enjoy it.
Best,
Karen Rose Smith

5.0 out of 5 stars When Mom Meets Dad April 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
When Alex Woodsides and Amanda Carson are set up by their nine-year-old matchmakeing daughters, the attraction between them positively sizzles.Unfortunately, they both have emotional baggage and trust issues that make the road to true love a rocky one. Sometimes light, sometimes serious, sometimes sexy, this story kept me turning the pages. Nicely done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet but sexy April 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this book by Karen Rose Smith. Kristy and Heather, nine-year-old best friends, set the plot in motion to match up their single parents. Alex and Amanda soon realize there is more between them than friendship and sparks fly. A really good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good vacation read! September 6, 2012
By Roza41
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great vacation read with an enjoyable story plot. It was fun to see how the 2 girls set up their parents. It also represented a realistic issue in single parent families that desire by the young girls to have the missing parent be replaced to create an intact family. The behavior of the characters also appeared to be realistic, even thought it was fiction. I will look forward to reading other books by Karen Rose Smith when I desire a relaxing read before sleep.
I purchased this e-book for my Kindle at Amazon.com.

More About the Author

Biography

"Karen Rose Smith always writes romances that touch the heart. They are quick reads with characters that we the readers can relate to." Kathy Andrico, www.kathysreviewcorner.com

Karen Rose Smith's plots are all about emotion. She began writing in her early teens when she listened to music and created stories to accompany the songs. After expressing feelings in poetry, earning a degree in English and French, completing short stories that became too long to find a market, she turned to her fascination with relationships, writing romances and now mysteries. This award-winning best-selling author (USA Today List, Borders Bestseller List, Amazon Romance Bestseller lists) will see her 80th novel released in 2013. She has published with Silhouette, Harlequin, Kensington and Meteor/Kismet. Her awards include two Golden Leaf awards in short contemporary romance, the Golden Quill in traditional romance, two cataromance.com's awards for Best Special Editions and Romance Review's Today's Best series romance award. Jane Bowers of Romance Reviews Today states: "Karen Rose Smith's storyworlds are complete and realistic and lovely places to visit and revisit. She excels at stories that feature couples brought together by infants and children, and she handles her plots and characters with sublime sensitivity."

Karen is well-known for writing emotion. An only child, she spent a lot of time in her imagination and with books Nancy Drew, Zane Gray, The Black Stallion and Anne of Green Gables. She dreamed of brothers and sisters and a big family like her mother and father came from--seven children in her mom's family and ten in her dad's. On weekends she was often surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. This is the root of her plotlines that include small communities and family relationships as part of everyday living. She believes universal emotions unite us all and that is the reason she employs them to propel her plots.

It is no secret that Karen married her college sweetheart and they have been married for over thirty years. She believes in the power of commitment and the hope that goes along with the promise of everlasting love. Along with enjoying time with her husband, Karen enjoys cooking, gardening, shopping, listening to music and keeping her two cats company or vice versa.

She has been busy reformatting her backlist for sale on Kindle. In addition, she writes Harlequin Special Editions and will see the debut of a mystery series for Kensington soon. Readers can follow her on Facebook (Search--Karen Rose Smith)or on Twitter @karenrosesmith. She welcomes interaction with her readers on either social network and would love to chat about plotlines, titles, emotions, heroes, heroines, music, books, gardening, cooking, or anything else readers deem noteworthy!
