While I have been a Christian since I was child, in 1984 the Lord began working "anew" in my life. In addition to having a wonderful mentor placed in my life, I became an avid reader of Christian books. Glaphre's When the Pieces Don't Fit still remains as one of the books that had a powerful impact on my life. By now I have hundreds of books in my personal library, but Glaphre's book remains at the top of my list to give as gifts or to lend out. For years I have been sadden by the fact that it is no longer in print. If you desire to grow closer to the Lord, and if you desire to learn how to "hear" the Lord speak to you, Glaphre's book is for you! I hope you can find a copy.

This is a great book. I have bought over 25 copies of this book over the years to give to people. I used it OFTEN when I taught youth. It is so practical on God's relationship with His children. Glaphre is a remarkable person. It made be realize how special the closeness of God is in our lives. No matter what I was experiencing in my life...God spoke to me through this book and Glaphre. I recommend it highly.

I love this book! It is out of print so I buy up all the copies I can get on line and give it as gifts. It's easy to read and truly inspirational. I feel like Glaphre is my dear friend and prayer partner. This book has been a tremendous help to me as well as those to whom I give it.

Glaphre's relationship with God will inspire you for years to come! There are not many books that leave a lasting impression but this is definitely one of them. If you want to see God at work through the life of an average person, just like you, then I strongly recomme nd that you get your hands on this book!

I read this book at least once per year. It depicts the sovereignty of God in many practical ways. It is easy to read, very inspirational, and touching.

A moving story of a teacher, who teaches in a troubled school environment and learn just as much as she teaches. This is all going on as she deals with a crippling illness. Faith and obedience with laughter.

This book is a life-changer, and I like to keep several copies on hand to give to people who are questioning what God is dishing out for their lives. Glaphre quotes Psalm 25, I think it's verse 10, that says, "ALL the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful." The book has a serious message, but it is written with wit and clarity that causes you both to smile and reflect on its truths.

This is a very good book. A lady at my church recommended it because all kinds of weird things were happening in my life that I didn't understand, and this book helped. It wasn't the easiest read, but it was good nonetheless.

I love this book because Glaphre shares all kinds of aspects of her life with God, including her struggles in obeying Him. It also shows how, even though God leads her to places that seem unreasonable based on her capabilities and compared to what all sensible people would advise, God comes through in unique ways so that she is able to make a difference in ways she could never do on her own.

I especially loved some of the "solutions" God gave her to resolve problems she encountered in the inner-city school God both led her to and held her to, despite all her objections. Delightful! The kids ended up loving her, and she ended up being promoted to bigger things even though her methods for discipline were unusual.

In a nutshell, it's a description of what Christians can experience, if we do what God tells us to do without reservation--as she says, it's GOD who makes the difference.

I had read this book before I bought it: the one I bought from Amazon.com was for my friend Rosana, as Glaphre's life reminded me so much of Rosana's life with God.

I share this because it is also part of the book's flavor: Rosana exists on almost no money and God is continually sending her from place to place to help people He points out. God also leads her to do ridiculous things, naturally speaking, but brings amazing results out of them because she obeys God no matter what it costs her. Sometimes she feels misunderstood, as a result. (She relies totally on God for provision when things go "wrong", often doing things no others would advise.)

I sent her this book so she could know there's someone else out there who understands where she's coming from.

This book is a true picture of God's love for us. The journey is never easy, but He promises to be with us every step of the way. Encouraging and challenging, this book will strengthen your walk with Christ.
