I have known Paul Williams for over 40 years. He is a man with a heart for missions and people. It has been impressive to observe his vision as a medical missionary. His experience in over 100 nations and with disaster relief work makes him well qualified to speak on the very important and relevant subject of disaster preparedness. --Admiral Vernon E. Clark, USN (Ret.), Chief of Naval Operations
I have known and worked with Dr. Paul Williams for over 18 years in medical missions. He has a deep compassion for the poor and hurting peoples of the world and a heart for them to receive care for the whole person, meeting their medical, physical, and spiritual needs. He has been a pioneer in the development of global medical missions, including disaster relief missions. Providing relief in disasters such as the typhoon in Bangladesh, the tsunami in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, the earthquake in Kashmir, and the refugee camps of Rwanda has given him a wealth of experience from which he can share with us (the reader) about disaster preparedness. --Chris Feucht, M.D.Director of Missions, New Life Ministries Int --Chris Feucht, M.D.Director of Missions, New Life Ministries Int l
Dr. Paul Williams is uniquely qualified to write a book on disaster preparedness. He has organized and led medical teams, including teams from our own In His Image International, in a number of major world disasters since the early 1990s. From the refugee camps created by the Rwandan Civil War to hurricane-ravaged Central America to tsunami devastation and earthquakes around the world, he has been there. --John R. Crouch Jr., M.D, President, In His Image International

A straight talk book about disaster preparation,
By
This review is from: When All Plans Fail (Paperback)
Our family has been storing food, water, bedding etc. for years in anticipation of a natural or man-made disaster. When we read Dr. Paul William's book, "When All Plans Fail", we realized we had only scratched the surface. In this book we found lists of items we hadn't even thought of. It also stimulated us to put into action the preparation guidelines given in this book. It is well written in sequential order with easy to follow instructions. It is impressing in the coverage of family as well as community and church involvement. We can all have great peace of mind when following the instructions given. Make this a fun project for your whole family to work together in preparing your safe haven. You will be glad you did.

This review is from: When All Plans Fail (Paperback)
This book is certainly well timed considering the diversity and magnitude of disasters we are experiencing in our country and around the world. It expresses thoughts on disaster preparedness in a well developed ( using step by step guides ), easily understood way ranging from high level, broad based planning down to the individual level. The author treats the spiritual aspects of the book in such a way that is not offensive or overbearing, but quite thought provoking. In addition, the book has numerous lists of things to do, items to have and websites to visit that are relevent to each of us in order to get prepared for any kind of disaster.
There are numerous disaster related books, but the way this one addresses the various levels and ways to prepare has made me actually take steps toward preparing my family and looking at ways to get neighbors and friends involved as well.

Hits the nail on the head,

This book summarized what one needs to do when an emergency happens and how to prepare for emergencies. It not only describes what to do in case of a home emergency but also emergencies in weather, earthquates, economic, & social upheaval. Chapters are organized for easy reference to get a specific job done. Lists are provided in most chapters for handy, easy reference. Quanities are listed where need - generally according to number of people one might need to support for a specific timeframe. In addition, there are legal issues addressed - wills, medical records, etc - where they should and shouldn't be kept. Just an overall easy to use reference on how to make plans for any and all emergencies. I have since bought emergency food, medical supplies, and have revamped by record keeping for easy access based on the information supplied by Dr Williams! Just Excellent!!!!
