I should have known from the opening credits (with the man in the background getting his umbrella pulled inside out on a clear day), that this show was going to annoy the crap out of me!! I really enjoy watching the NY Mob Wives and thought, hey why not give this one a try. What a mistake. First of all...uhmm, where was the freakin storyline? From the first episode this was one continuous cat fight over some of the dumbest s*** ever! Although the Staten Island crew does get their fight on, at least there's sufficient enough back story so that you want to actually care about them and what goes on in their lives. Is it over the top at times...sure...but the Chicago crew...geezus. I don't feel like we were ever allowed to get to know them beyond the shallow surface. And I can tell you that was not enough for me to want to get to know them any further. Between all the bleeps there was probably about one paragraph of actual dialogue. If that wasn't enough their connections to the mob were so tenuous it was laughable. It's like for this show they decided to take every mob/mafia princess stereotype and roll it up into this farce. Thankfully VH1 decided to say fuggehedaboutit!

I think the show could be improved a whole lot. The ladies get into a fight and the cameras capture every angle - just goofy quick shots with funky camera angles. This is an obvious and overused method to simulate fights without having to choreograph the action or use stunt personnel. You can't for a moment suspend belief.

This demonstrates how the show is organized. It's a certainty that even the smallest arguments are scripted. Simulated drama was unnecessary. Meaningful drama would have emerged with more filming and editing (i.e., a bigger production budget).

These are all smart ladies. They are not glib like this in real life - the opposite. It's difficult for me to continue watching more than ten minutes at a time despite my liking each of the women.

Nevertheless, there are redeeming aspects. The way the ladies talk probably couldn't be highly scripted. They talk like their fathers and uncles from the Outfit. They use old expressions that still capture meanings and convey not only street smarts but a little old world wisdom.

Too bad the women are presented as high-maintenance brawlers. Unfortunately, what these women can tell us from their experiences has been caricatured.

The original Mob Wives was interesting. This offshoot is nothing but contrived drivel. I've grown up in Chicago, and sure there's a lot of mob history, but it's exactly that: history. I don't know what barrel they scraped these women off the bottom of. The mob doesn't exist in Chicago any more, so these women and their alleged mob ties are ridiculous.

It's amazing how anyone can be on tv anymore. I call it cheap, mindless entertainment, but I realized I became only more dumb each time I watched an episode. But if you want to get away from life and be shocked by someone else's life…this is the show.

How is this called Mob Wives?? None of them are married to the mob (pun intended)!!!
Maybe the guys that know them are smart enough to stay away and Rene's boyfriend must have a get away bag packed.
Everyone of these women is psychotic; with a capital P!
The girls in NY are much more entertaining.

The show was weird. Nothing like the original whatsoever. These gals are working way too hard to find a reason to fight.
