4.0 out of 5 stars When Somebody Loves You Back by Mary B Morrison: An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review
Jada, Wellington, Darius, and Fancy are back! The characters you have grown to love and know since "Soul Mates Dissipates" started it all, are back in the final chapter of the series.
Darius Jones is finally back on top, all the drama is behind him and not only is he about embark on a promising NBA career but Darius has finally met his match in fiancee Fancy Taylor...

3.0 out of 5 stars Huh?
I'm glad that this has come to an end. Don't get me wrong, Mary Morrison is one of my favorites and I have enjoyed the Soulmates series...up until this point. This was too good of a series to be rushed to a bad ending. I found When Somebody Loves You Back to be soap-operish. I felt like I was channel surfing instead of reading a book. Dynasty, Knots Landing, Young...

4.0 out of 5 stars When Somebody Loves You Back by Mary B Morrison: An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review, July 29, 2006
This review is from: When Somebody Loves You Back (Hardcover)
Jada, Wellington, Darius, and Fancy are back! The characters you have grown to love and know since "Soul Mates Dissipates" started it all, are back in the final chapter of the series.
Darius Jones is finally back on top, all the drama is behind him and not only is he about embark on a promising NBA career but Darius has finally met his match in fiancee Fancy Taylor. Of course, their happiness is short-lived because their lives are about to be forever changed when Ashley, the mother of Darius's "dead" son comes back into the picture. Unstable and on the verge of a mental breakdown, Ashley is determined to reclaim the life she thinks is hers. Life for Jada is about to be forever changed as well, Wellington is gravely ill and on his deathbed, makes an confession that shatters Jada to her soul. Will she able to move on and finally put the past behind her? When Somebody Loves You Back is typical Mary B. Morrison.....steamy, passionate, drama-filled with a touch of betrayal. It is an satisfying ending to a much-loved series. Can't wait to see what Ms. Morrison cranks out next! Reviewed by Shay C of PeoplewholoveGoodBooks

3.0 out of 5 stars Huh?, February 6, 2007

I'm glad that this has come to an end. Don't get me wrong, Mary Morrison is one of my favorites and I have enjoyed the Soulmates series...up until this point. This was too good of a series to be rushed to a bad ending. I found When Somebody Loves You Back to be soap-operish. I felt like I was channel surfing instead of reading a book. Dynasty, Knots Landing, Young and the Restless, Desperate Housewives, and ER. Some of the things these characters did were outlandish. Jada needed to sit down. Wellington needed to lie down. Candice needed to be knocked down. Melanie needed to be run down. Ashlee needed to be locked down. And Darius just needed to grow the h*ll up!

It was a quick read, but not page-turning quick. I simply wanted to know what was gonna happen. Again, I'm glad to see this end. May they all rest in peace.

Looking forward to new beginnings with Sweeter than Honey and Dicktation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the last book!!, August 9, 2006
This review is from: When Somebody Loves You Back (Hardcover)
When Somebody Loves You Back efficiently wrapped up the storyline to this point. I read it in 2 days, and really enjoyed it. This book has me wanting more, but I have a bad feeling it will be a while before book 7 is released. I enjoyed how each character's story ended, but hated Wellington in the end. Jada got such a bad rep from everyone about her past decisions, while Wellington lived like a king trying to be a "ladie's man". I wish death on no one, but his end was fitting because of his vast wrong-doings. Darrius and Fancy learned so much about life and grew together as a couple. Ashlee's storyline was interesting, and I would have liked more detail in that area. Overall, it was great, and a must read for all M.B.M fans!

4.0 out of 5 stars Final book in a great series, December 26, 2006
By
This review is from: When Somebody Loves You Back (Hardcover)
When Sombebody loves you back is the last book in this series. When I first started reading it, I was not that impressed at first. The book started off a little slow for me, but once things picked up, it kept going strong. The book was minus the steamy sexuality of her past efforts, but still had plenty of drama, surprises, and more drama.

I'm going to echo what the other reviewers have stated. In order to truly appreciate this book, you have to read the other books in the series first or you will be confused. In fact I plan to reread all the books myself now that I have them. When you are waiting for the next book in the series, you do tend to forget small details. I know I did.

Read the books in the following order:
Book #1:Soul Mates Dissipate
Book #2:Never Again Once More
Book #3:He's Just a Friend
Book #4:Sombody's Gotta be on top
Book #5:Nothing Ever felt like this
Book #6:When Somebody loves you back

Darius was supposed to marry Fancy, but he gets some news that has him nervous. Ashelee calls telling him all kinds of lies, and the wedding does not happen. Ashlee is simply being scandalous and if she can't have Darius she does not want Fancy having him either, and is determined to ruin that relationship forever.

Jada is dealing with Wellingtons illness, and as his condition becomes grave finds out she is not the only woman that he loved. Candice is up to her usual tricks of snooping and trying to get more information to further her own career, and of course Jada being he trusting friend is clueless. I just about died laughing when Candice got caught snooping in Darius's home.

Ashlee is simply unstable. She wanted to keep blaming Darius for her condition and situation, but how much accountability was she willing to take for even falling for Darius in the first place? Knowing how much pain he put her through, she still wanted him!!! That's what really had me going. She still loved him, and was still hoping he would choose her. Her father was not helping matters I felt. He kept thinking she was not capable of any wrong doing, but had no idea that Ashlee was sneaking into houses and being a relationship destroyer.

When Ashlee was stupid enough to leave her son in the car alone again, I was happy that she had to be held accountable for her actions. She should have been arrested the first time!

When Ashelee replaces aspirin with abortion pills I wanted to reach through the pages and slap her. I mean how vindictive can a person be?

I was happy that Fancy was willing to reach out and actually help someone else for a change. When she agreed to help Tanya by giving her a job, so she could get off of welfare, I felt that was a true step forward for Fancy. I could not believe that Jada would even entertain being with Darryl after the way he treated her and Darius. I was very happy to see Darius grow up, and take responsibility for his actions, and the pain he caused people in his life. He was so busy just being a player, he did not want to acknowledge that his actions would bring about really bad reactions.

Melanie was simply trying to get her hands on some money, and I'm so happy that Jada put a stop to that. Melanie was simply a gold digging opportunist. Ashlee will have your emotions going all over the place. There were moments I was so angry with her actions, but when she broke down in the courtroom, I actually felt sorry for her. I really did.

I felt if Savoy's few paragraphs had not made the book I would not have missed it. I kind of felt Savoy was irrelevant to the story for the last book. I also felt bad for Desmond. He really loved Fancy, and thought he finally had her, but he did not have her heart, Darius had that on lock.

For people who wonder what happens to Ashelee, you simply need to pick up Mary B. and Car Webers book She Ain't the one. Ashlee's story continues in that book.

The final book shows the different degrees of love. Being betrayed by love, being able to return love, being able to truly appreciate love, and being able to recover when love is not returned. Mary B did her thing with this series, and I know I will be reading the series over and over for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars When Somebody Loves You Back...You Don't Know How To Act!, April 6, 2007
This review is from: When Somebody Loves You Back (Hardcover)
Mr. Darius definitely didn't know how to act, or how to love! ...is all I can say.

From this day forward, I WILL be purchasing all of Mary Monroe's books! This was a very good read. Some parts were a little unrealistic, but they fit the story line perfectly. What I liked about the book was that you didn't have to have read any of the other books belonging to the series in order to obtain a thorough knowledge of what's going on here. All of the characters were well defined and gave you a great understanding of their personalities. I totally disagree with the other reviewers on this issue. KEEP WRITING MARY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not disappointed at all, August 7, 2006
By
This review is from: When Somebody Loves You Back (Hardcover)
Ms Morrison has once again done it. This book was so good. It was so sad how Ashlee had changed. I was really shocked that she became this crazy. I am glad to see that Darius finally grew up. If I could give this book 10 stars I would. I read it in a day and a half and was so upset when I got to the end. If you haven't gotten this book yet then I highly suggest that you go get it NOW and if you have't read anything by Ms. Morrison that you start from the beginning and you will be quickly drawn in.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth the Buy, August 1, 2006
This review is from: When Somebody Loves You Back (Hardcover)
I really enjoyed the book; however, I was a little disappointed in the end. Out of all of the characters I think that Ashlee got the raw end of the deal. And though Darius recieved some punishment for his past acts, it seemed that in regards to Ashlee he didnt pay enough. Ashlee's speech in the courtroom really touched on how I was feeling as a reader, because even when Darius doese pay he always is sorta winds up on top in the end . I would love to read a book on Ashlee's road to self-recovery and for her to finally find someone to love; however even in the end I believe that like Wellington had two soulmates, Darius also has two, Fancy and Ashlee, but only another book will tell. Even though the end was fair, I hope that eventually we will see more of these characters.

I'm still missing pieces in this series. Why didn't she get more into Wellington's death? I mean he was there from the beginning of the series. At least they could have had a funeral scene or something to say goodbye. Then the part about Darius finding out about his kid. That could have been better too. But what I did like was how Mary turned sweet little Ashlee into a mad woman. Fancy turned into a better person and I think in the end so did Darius. I think they found true love. What was the purpose of that Melanie chick being in the story and even Savoy and Tyrone? I guess that was just thrown in there because they hadn't really been visited since a couple books ago. But I still wanted more details. To much skipping around was done.

2.0 out of 5 stars When somebody loves you back, September 2, 2008

This book drug the storyline out forever. I read it because it was supposed to be as good as She's not the one. This book was both boring and pointless. Mary B Morrison should stick to co-authoring books with other writers. This is the 3rd book of hers I have purchased and all of them have been terrible. Carl Weber is the true author of She's Not The One. His contribution made the book exciting and a good read. When Somebody Loves You Back
