About the Author

Nancy Seifer and Martin Vieweg, coauthors of When the Soul Awakens, have been studying and practicing principles of the Ageless Wisdom for over thirty years. This book represents the harvest of their transformative journeys. Nancy Seifer has been an author since the late 1960s, when she became interested in ethnic diversity and the problems of working-class women in America. Her spiritual journey unfolded a decade later, leading to a personal exploration of the evolution of consciousness chronicled in her memoir, Russian Odyssey. Martin Vieweg has studied diverse metaphysical teachings and has written and lectured on topics ranging from reincarnation to meditation. He served in several spiritual organizations before becoming director of data management for a national non-profit organization. After searching most of my life for answers to life's riddles, this book opened the flood gates for me.
I purchased many copies for like minded friends and the response was "This is a book who's time has come."
The authors invested much time and effort to translate esoteric teachings into every day language.

I must be reading a completely different book from the rest of the reviewers on here.I ordered this book with glad anticipation after reading a preview of the first few chapters. The preface and introduction hit the nail on the head. However, the rest of it turned out to be completely different from what I expected. I was looking forward to details of some personal experience of spiritual transformation by the authors. But instead it reads like a long, boring monologue on the spiritual achievements and experiences of well known Western figures such as Keats,Descartes, Tolstoy, Plato (who's 'ancient wisdom' is mostly borrowed from ancient Eygpt)and many others. It's quite technical and comes off as dry and academic as opposed to inspiring. However, it is very detailed and goes into depth about the whole process of spiritual development. It's also quite an interesting read in parts and contains many spiritual concepts that are corroborated in other books on this subject matter. Therefore, I gave it 3 stars instead of 2. I would recommend it for a more "intellectual" as opposed to read "relaxing" read.

Have you ever wanted a book that sort of brings it all together, the whys and wherefores, and tells you where it's going? Then may I suggest you take a look at this incredibly informative book, When The Soul Awakens.

Authors Seifer and Vieweg write about the spiritual path and how we can find our higher purpose and thus aid humanity during these difficult times. It's a treasure trove of information, and an excellent introduction to what is known as the Ageless Wisdom. Not only will you find the nature of the soul and spiritual experience explained and demystified, but you will be inspired to delve deeper into the realm of intuitive knowing.

We learn about the shift in consciousness that is taking us beyond a mind-based view of the world to that of the heart, where an awareness of our common humanity will grow beyond distinctions of race, creed or nationality.
