After searching most of my life for answers to life's riddles, this book opened the flood gates for me.
I purchased many copies for like minded friends and the response was "This is a book who's time has come."
The authors invested much time and effort to translate esoteric teachings into every day language.

I must be reading a completely different book from the rest of the reviewers on here.I ordered this book with glad anticipation after reading a preview of the first few chapters. The preface and introduction hit the nail on the head. However, the rest of it turned out to be completely different from what I expected. I was looking forward to details of some personal experience of spiritual transformation by the authors. But instead it reads like a long, boring monologue on the spiritual achievements and experiences of well known Western figures such as Keats,Descartes, Tolstoy, Plato (who's 'ancient wisdom' is mostly borrowed from ancient Eygpt)and many others. It's quite technical and comes off as dry and academic as opposed to inspiring. However, it is very detailed and goes into depth about the whole process of spiritual development. It's also quite an interesting read in parts and contains many spiritual concepts that are corroborated in other books on this subject matter. Therefore, I gave it 3 stars instead of 2. I would recommend it for a more "intellectual" as opposed to read "relaxing" read.

The book was very enlightening and I really enjoyed it. I have to admit that I am not a very spiritual person but the book has opened my eyes a little more. It allowed me to look a little deeper into my self and how I fit in the world. I was happy that she included a glossary because there were some terms mentioned in the book that I was not familiar with. This book is nothing short of a magnificant gift to those who are awakening during this present time on our planet. It guides the reader through a marvelous journey of discovery and provides calm assurance that all will be well when the coming Golden Age manifests on our earth. It is beautifully written and easily understood, making it the perfect manual for those who wish to learn all that is needed for the sacred journey ahead.

My copy of "When the Soul Awakens" is now dog-eared and the margins are filled with notes - the way important books we own should look. On each page, I sense the guiding hands of Nancy and Martin. Our evolving world and psyches need guiding hands. This wonderful book is filled with ancient wisdom, but more importantly it radiates hope for a better world.
