Fantastic, fun and swinging, February 13, 2008

I saw Miss Tess live in a friend's living room, where she played a transfixing, impromptu set while in transit to an official gig, accompanied only by her own guitar and an upright bass player. She has a beautiful, passionate voice, which seems as if it should have existed in an era that was better prepared to appreciate this sort of slyly innovative swing, which is obviously grounded in some serious musical chops.
